The Mercedes Benz experience
This Is my second Rowenta iron and loving it! Lots of improvements compared to my 19 year old P2 Professsional. This MB model combines the best features of most if not, all of the Rowenta non-commercial line.Pros:1800 Watts, self cleaning, 400 holes of strong vertical and horizontal steam (I haven't gone beyond the 3rd notch on the variable steam setting). The steam burst is really a burst! Warm up is less than 45 seconds on the highest setting. The fully flexible electrical cord sleeve is a major improvement from the up/down limited motion of my old iron. The water cap and tank are a breeze to fill and empty. My old iron would "choke" if I poured too fast and would trickle out when emptying. The weight and feel are comfortable as well. Build quality is solid, packaging, ease of use, user documentation is easy to follow. Uses plain tap water (no need for filtered and - no distilled). The narrow tip makes for easy maneuvering in close corners, little pleats and in between buttons.Cons:The lettering of the temperature knob takes a little effort to read (dark body color and knob). The safety cut off could turn the iron off if you have too light a touch when ironing (the iron thinks it's not moving and initiates the 30 second safety cut off). No worries just a quick nudge and it won't shut off. I believe the "INOX" plate suface on my previous model allowed the iron to really glide regardless of fabric. This "Platinium" surface is smooth but my former model had the edge. Conclusion:This iron will not disappoint. I'll iron my wife's, my daughter's and then my clothes easily! Avoid direct contact with starch. I reverse and spray my shirts. I highly recommend it. Good job, Rowenta!

DRAWING 14.6 AMP OF POWER
I was a fan of Rowenta. I bought 4 of them so far for 2 of my houses. It made my breakers flip every time even there was only one light on in my mastered room. I had no clue until I hired an electrician who checked the consumption for me to see how much it draws when being use. It draws 14.6 AMP!!!!. A regular bedroom has only 15 AMP using 14 gauge of wire. My master bath has its own breaker. I am not going to spend big buck to add a 20 or 30 breaker for using this iron. It has to go to the trash!
