About the Different Versions:The different versions of Dixit can be confusing since the publishers used different naming conventions and there are both standalone and expansion versions of some sets. All versions of Dixit use the same card size and have the same card back so they are all compatible with each other. Here is what I was able to figure to the best of my knowledge:There are 8 sets: Dixit, Dixit Odyssey, Dixit Quest (Dixit 2), Dixit Journey (Dixit 3), Dixit Origins (Dixit 4), Dixit Daydreams (Dixit 5), Dixit Memories (Dixit 6), and Dixit Revelations (Dixit 7).Dixit Jinx is a totally separate game with square shaped cards. Dixit US name: DixitEuro name: DixitArtist: Marie CardouatStandalone game that comes with 84 cards and everything you need to play with up to 6 players. There are several different printings.The older version, also called  Dixit (International Rules Version) , comes with a scoring track built into the box and space to hold the 84 cards. It can be identified with a German Game of the Year icon on the front of the box.The newer version,  Dixit , being printed since 2012, comes with a foldable scoring track that is less cute but more functional than the scoring track in the old/international version and space to hold 336 cards (Dixit's 84 cards plus 3 other sets). It's a quicker game, and while there are some similarities in the mechanics with one player picking a card and other players guessing which one based on a clue, it is still quite different.About Dixit in General:Dixit is a game about creativity, subtlety, storytelling, and whimsical art. While there technically is a winner in games of Dixit, it shouldn't be approached as a competitive game. Most people tend to either love it or hate it. Gamers focused on strategy, tactics, winning or literal minded people are less likely to enjoy the game than creative people, artists, or those comfortable with metaphors.

This product is sold as an expansion pack for Dixit Journey. I ordered this in advance of Christmas and the recipient just opened it (past the return window) to find that this product consists of almost ALL duplicate cards to the original Dixit Journey. I would return it if I could. As we really were looking for additional cards not duplicate cards. I would not recommend this if you already have dixit journey and are looking to expand your cards.

This is also known as Dixit 3. This version is only the cards, but in the US it was originally a stand alone version of the game. The artwork is probably my favorite second to the original. The artist is different (Xavier Collette), and has more of a computerized look rather than a hand drawn look of the original set. The imagery gives great ideas for clues during the game.My one complaint (and why I took off a star) is these cards are noticeably thinner than the original cards and other expansions I own when compared side by side. I was a little disappointed about that. I'm not sure why they used thinner card-stock on this expansion, but when you shuffle them in with the other cards you can't really tell the difference.

I loved the art work just like the original game. However, the back of the cards were a different shade than that of the original which is why I took off a star also the deck was more expensive than the game itself which was kinda annoying but overall love the cards now I don't run out of cards and have more variety when playing with 5-6 players.

I'm an organizer for a tabletop-game club and play at local events about twice per week. For years Dixit has been my second-favorite game, and I think it's destined to remain so forever. I have every expansion, and my fellow players all agree: the more expansions you have, the better this game gets. My absolute favorite game? It's Tales of the Arabian Nights, but that's a long game that I simply can't play very often. Dixit is my favorite game that can be played in less than an hour, and it's so much more fun with six players (the maximum) than with fewer that if I can't round up six, I simply play something else until I can.

This is the third expansion I've purchased and I absolutely love it! I love the art style, it's definitely different than the first two sets you can buy which I love because it definitely adds diversity to the game play. This set has some of my favorite pictures in my collection.

Excellent! If you like the early images you'll probably like this as well. There are plenty of interesting cards and the art plays against some of the earlier works so it fits in nicely with the other sets. If you like Dixit and are looking for an expansion than this is a good choice. I strongly recommend previewing the cards on another website - just google for it and you should find plenty of images.

We only had the original Dixit game, with cards drawn by the same artist. These are more of the same - weird, whimsical, interesting pix. Love them!

I own loads of classical board games of all times but this game is my strong NO. 1 !!!I recommend this game to loads of my friends already. Once they try it - they fell in love with it too!- It’s great for everyone (age 5+ onwards)- it’s not competitive (unless you make it to be)- gets you talking- fun of guessing how others see things- extremely creative- you can play it all over! It’s a different experience depending who you play it with- contains beautiful pictures to analyseI already bought two expansions packs but would love to get the whole set. Perfect for presents!

I ordered these extension cards despite having read other reviews that say some are repeats of the cards included in the original Dixit game.I'm pleased to say that NONE of them are repeats, but are in a similar style to the original colourful and intriguing illustrations. It's great to have some new material/inspiration for this excellent game!

A very unique game for sure. The game can depend greatly on your playgroup, but we've had experiences ranging from decent to amazing. The presentation is very appealing, and the game awards thinking outside the box without going too abstract, allowing for inside jokes and other types of humour.If I were to discredit the game for one thing, I'd say I feel like the art feels quite bland, especially compared to the other expansions. Revelations completely blows the art from Odyssey out of the water, and Memories is also excellent. Thankfully the game has room for two (maybe three) expansions, so you can pick them up over time.
