WATCH THE PRICING!!!!!
The holes are large enough to double up some colors. The current project I am working on has 28 colors. I use Avery White Marking Tags Strung, 1.093 x 0.75 Inches, Pack of 1000 (12207) ( strings are knotted) to identify the color numbers to keep them in order and have all 28 colors identified. Much more easily altered than permanent marks. I am in the process of shortening the strings to keep the tags more visible.Update 4/17/2017: Although I did not note it above, I did think the item was rather pricey for a plaint stick of wood with a few holes drilled in it. I just looked at this again and noticed that my original purchase on 3/14/2017 cost $18.39 sold by Amazon LLC. The reason I did not purchase a second one at the time, was due to the price. Well, today Amazon LLC is selling the very same item for $9.52.WHAT A RIPOFF!! I HATE feeling cheated! The product is still good, but the price change is UNFAIR. Didn't want to ding the product, but sure cannot give it 5 stars, either.

Solid wood, large holes, nice quality.
Very nice quality for the price, and a huge step up from the cardboard yarn organizers I used to make from the packaging the kits came in! The only thing I would change is the size of the holes. Unless you have bulkier yarn, like you use with needlepoint, you really don't need such a large hole.I use this mainly for crewel embroidery, and the yarn for that is fine wool. For cross stitch thread I would want even smaller holes, but the same general idea. I don't really use the magnet for my needles, because they would be knocked off pretty easily, but as a quick parking spot it works fine.I use two of these, because I stitch projects with a lot of shading, and thus, many colors. Numbers might be helpful, but I can understand why the designer opted out of having them stamped onto the wood.

Extremely happy
I love this. I do a lot of needlepoint and this is fantastic for holding all the yarn. The predrilled holes are perfect for the wool yarns. I also took a sheet of numbers with another purchase and I used those number for the drilled holes then I used clear nail polish to make sure the numbers stayed in place. I have had for decades an old plastic one with 20 straight lits that are a straight cut for the yarn. I really love my new yarn holder❤️❤️

A yarn stick for wool!
FINALLY, I have found a yarn stick with holes large enough to hold crewel wool. Most yarn holders out there are for floss, with very small holes to hold the thin cotton yarns. After searching for years, I finally found this wonderful yarn organizer on Amazon, which allows me to work on my crewel projects "on the go," while travelling, With 20 large holes and a magnetic strip at one end for parking needles, I couldn't have designed a better tool to carry my many colors of wool. Since the stick is very smooth and lacquered, it doesn't catch the strands of wool or give me splinters. It certainly beats all those cardboards with slits thatI have used in the past! This yarn stick is one of my prized needlework tools - I love it! Amazon, you carry the very best needlework items!

Love this organizer
I absolutely love this wood thread organizer. It has a magnet on one end that is designed to hold needles. I don't use that part, though I think it would be useful for needles or maybe even to hold the organizer someplace. Either way, I think this wood organizer is great. I had to put little stickers on it to mark the threads, and I don't know how that could be made better. It doesn't distract from it, in my opinion.

Lightweight and sturdy
Wooden board is lightweight but sturdy. Boreholes are smooth and yarn does not snag. Only complaint is holes are all the same size, some variety would be nice.

Nice way to organize your yarn or thread
I use this for my needlepoint yarn. The wholes are plenty big to get a fairly large bundle of yarn through the whole. No need to take all the yarn off the stick. Just pull one strand at a time from the cross portion of the "hitch" knot. The stick is very smooth and does not seem to snag the yarn. There is an adequate amount of space between the individual holes. The magnet will hold a needle, but I would considerate it just a temporary place to place a needle as it does not seen secure enough for long term storage. My only complaint is that the holes are not numbered. This was easy to fix, but would like to see that added. I am happy with the organizing stick and it works much better that the cards with slits.

If you have large quantities of a particular color yarn you need two of these organizers
Holes are too small for large quantities of yarn
