Stan Lee asked me if I was "Special Forces or something"
I found myself suddenly headed to Toronto for work (and for the first time ever), and I would have been a mess without this thing. The basic touches, like having my passport and identification easily within reach at the airport, to securing my wallet in a non-obvious place while out of the country, were great and became second nature. I was in Canada to host panels at their biggest comic con, Fan Expo Canada, and it was fantastic to have plenty of carrying capacity as needed during the day, without having to lug around a backpack or shoulder bag, or make a trip back to the hotel midday. I was able to carry my full-size iPad, my audio recorder and cables that I use to record the panels I host (for podcasting purposes), snacks as needed, a water bottle, various pens, my Field Notes reporter-style notepad, spare batteries and SD cards, the small foldable Bluetooth keyboard I use with my phone, a USB battery to re-juice my phone and iPad, sunglasses, and a few other little things depending on the day… But I still had room to shove comics and trade paperbacks that I bought from creators I found on the show floor, whether in the iPad pocket or the zippered back pocket. The cord holes snaked throughout the vest allowed me to stow my phone one place and recharge it with the battery pack elsewhere, and the built-in headphone rigging once again eliminated a common kind of clutter. The unique setup of Toronto's convention center is such that it's two buildings glued onto each other, and to get from the comics panels I was hosting to the enormous room that the celebrity panels were in was a significant hike. I was hustling from hosting a Q&A with Marvel's Chief Creative officer Joe Quesada to hosting Stan Lee's last-ever Canadian appearance with all my prep notes, gadgets, comics on my iPad, all the stuff I'd normally need a bag for...and it all just hung on me like a bandolier but for nerd stuff rather than pistols. When is go onstage, off would go the vest on a chair backstage and on went my blazer. I found out they also make a blazer with ScottE-nhancements (my clunky term not theirs) and onto my wish list it went. I've done multiple comic-cons since, and the vest has transformed my ability to shop and work while carrying less and saving more time. One of my favorite things is killing time backstage showing the vest off to other event staff as well as the talent.I should add that one day I did bring a backpack in Toronto was when I bought up all of the deluxe hardcovers of a friend's work that he had, and I mention this because it posed an issue when it came to cramming all my crap into a rolling suitcase and backpack for the return flight. I was out of room...but for the fact I could stuff a "Personal Bag Carry-On" worth of stuff into my vest, which saved me having to buy another bag to check at the airport, which due to a slow Uber, would've resulted in missing my flight.I'm looking forward to expanding my scottevest "equipment inventory", both for the work I do at conventions and festivals as well as hiking and visiting National Parks with my wife, a favorite thing we picked up on the drive to and from San Diego Comic-Con (from Texas) this year. I'd bought a Columbia vest before that trip, but it never quite worked for what I needed. The flimsy mesh pockets inside the Columbia vest were not just awkward, but a downright pain in the ass. Now that I think of it, I haven't so much as touched it since the ScottEVest arrived.

Great For Mild Or Warm Weather
I purchased this vest and the Quest. The Quest is bulkier but more sturdy. It retains heat well, which is why I returned it. I live in Phoenix, and the last thing I need is a very warm vest. Otherwise, it is great, with all the pockets. If I lived in cold, or even cool weather, I would have kept it, but alas, I returned it. The zippers were fine. I decided on the 23 pocket Men's travel vest. Twenty three pockets is plenty. At a football game, I had a fleece hat, fleece blanket, scarf, and pens tucked away comfortably in my vest, with room to spare. The zippers are small, and the main zipper can be a little tricky to close. I would say that is the only negative component of the vest. Even though the vest is so light-weight, it retains some heat and makes a great layer in cold weather. Both vests fit perfectly. I am 5'8, 175 pounds with a little pudge in my belly and an XL was just right for both vests. Both vests are also very handsome.

I have used it in the desert of Arizona to the pack ice in Newfoundland and it has exceeded my expectations.
I have been using this vest for a year. I have used it in the desert of Arizona to the pack ice in Newfoundland and it has exceeded my expectations.I purchased the winter or heavier one and I also go the vest with the 2-Way Zipper. (Zips from top and the bottom.) I live in the mountains of Arizona and haven't had a temperature problem yet. I usually switch to my summer vest when I go down into the hole called Phoenix and that is so much lighter that I have no problem at all. The one downside is the cell phone pocket isn't big enough for a note 5 or a note 8. I still use it for them but I just have to be careful not to throw the vest over the back of a chair. I still do it but I have to be careful HOW I do it.I would recommend that you get the vest with the 2-Way Zipper . For convenience if nothing else.

Shamefull failure
A genuinely terrific garment ruined by a cheap pocket zipper that jammed, permanently., Inexcusable quality failure, not uncommon -- nt the first garment I've purchased only to have the zipper jam and fail.

A Lifelong Dream Come True
This was a lifelong dream of mine to have everything I could ever need on me. So I am pleased this dream has come true. That being said it is still easier to carry my MacBook Pro in a small backpack, but it has replaced everything else that was in my big backpack and my pants pockets. Though I can still carry the MacBook in the back pocket, it's not ideal. If you really want to carry your laptop with you, then look for a different model. From what I hear, the Tropiformer jacket does have a pocket specializing in laptops.Just as many others are saying, make sure you get one size bigger than the shirt you wear if you are going to be putting stuff in it. So the next time I buy, I will probably be looking into the Tropiformer to carry my laptop in. Also, don't forget to check out the Youtube reviews for the different Scottevest products.

Useful, (some flaws) multi-pocketed, good looking.
This vest lives up to the ScottVest quality. The pockets are well-placed and numerous. Compared to another ScottVest I have, this one is 100% Polyester, versus the Cotton/Polyester fabric of the older vest, making the new vest a little lighter. I prefer my vests a little heavier, feeling more comfortable.UPDATE 4/24/16:Lost one star. There are problems with 3 of the zippers:A-The main center zipper is difficult to use, caused by the fabric that usually covers the tip of the zipper on the left, jamming the zipper.B- The two zippers on either side near the top of main zipper. The handles of these two zippers often bury themselves in the fabric, making them difficult to find/reach, maybe due to the small size of these two zipper handles.

Do not hesitate!
This vest saved me through travelling alone in South America. I'm a lady traveller , so like to be careful of my belongings especially in some strange surroundings. This vest held all my valuables, papers, tickets, passport , iPhone, IPad even when neccessary, example, going through customs everything is sealed tight in your scottvest. It looks nice too and my friends said I looked smart in my jeans and jacket! Evenings I wore it with a nice blouse or top, no need for handbags!

This Will Come In Handy
Well, it looks like it lives up to its hype. It's well made and chock-full of pockets which stay reasonably hidden. I'm surprised even a 11" MacBook Air fits in one of the pockets! I'll take it for a real spin (ie air travel) soon. Can't wait...

Great quality, utility and delivery
Delivery: Ordered beige/sand coloured one in medium, on Monday night 7pm, received 36 hours later.Quality: is exceptional, zip and other fittings seem good, with easy-to-grip zip pulls on inside and sleek metal pulls on outside pockets.Very neat stitching and seams. Fabric is a tight weave that feels pleasant, isn't shiny, looks good and drapes well (it's a polyester in and out which I normally dislike, preferring only cotton and wool fabrics, but I'm impressed with this). The mesh lining will be good at helping stay comfortable on warmer days I am sure, when using the vest to it's load carrying capacity - e.g. at the airport or on days out.Style: My first task was to get it accepted by my partner, because this could be considered a bit nerdy after all, but she was impressed with it and agreed she wouldn't cringe if I wore it out with her ;-) With a polo shirt and shorts it could even look a bit trendy, like a puffer/body warmer, but it also wouldn't be out of place on someone in smart trousers and shirt.Design & function: exceeds my expectations (I'm fussy AND an engineer!!!) - the design of the pockets is excellent, very cleverly laid out.I loaded it up with Sony e/reader (in a leather case), Ipod Classic in leather flip case, fat wallet, change, pocket zoom camera in bulky padded case, A6 sized mini filofax notebook, Samsung Galaxy s2, bunch keys and dark glasses and it was still looked OK without looking too lumpy or nerdy (backed up by 'er indoors'). Plenty of pockets not filled, so if you are likely to do so, you may need to consider a larger size (see below).Sizing: I'm approx 12stone, 5'8", 39"chest, and the medium looks a neat fit, not baggy but not tight. With a thick polo shirt and thick sweater I can still do the vest up and it looks good. However if I load it up as above it becomes a little snugg(but OK with only the polo shirt underneath).I've decided to stick with the medium because I'm only going to fully load it up a few times a year (e.g. when travelling) and then will dump most of the contents in hotel room and then carry the few daily essentials day to day. The remainder of the time it will serve as a less hot alternative to a jacket for spring / summer. In Winter I may wear this under a regular shell layer - we'll see.I will certainly consider other ScottVest jackets now I've seen this, and have asked them about extending the UK range, which they have said they are considering while they monitor UK sales of the vest. Otherwise one has to order from the US website and pay the shipping etc. :-(Affiliations to ScotteVest? None.Recommend it? DEFINITELY!
