Good quality all leather boot
I am absolutely in love with these boots. As soon as I put them on, I could tell right away the quality of the craftsmanship. I am a land surveyor in south west Pennsylvania where the terrain can get pretty rough and needed a good hiking boot that will hold up. I’ve onlybeen using them for 3 weeks now, but so far so good. I have no problem paying a lot of money for a good boot. I hope they last me a while.**UPDATE**I have worn these boots almost every day since I bought them. These boots are phenomenal. I have worked outside on my feet for 20 years and these are by far the most comfort and durable boot I have ever put on my feet. I am about to buy my second pair just to have a back up.I maintain them frequently. I put them on a boot dryer every night even though the insides never get wet and I wax the leather ever other weekend. The break in period is a little rough, but after you get through that you will be happy you bought them.

Best boot I've owned.
These are amazing boots! So far I've had them for about six weeks, and covered about 150 miles. I work in the mountains as a field biologist, hiking cross-country in steep brushy mountain terrain. Been doing it for 25 years, so I have a good sense of what makes a great boot. I hike 600+ miles each year, usually not on trails or roads. Even with good boots I normally have to replace them every few years. These are light enough that I'd take them backpacking, but sturdy enough that I have little doubt that they'll last at LEAST three years, probably five or more on the original sole. They fit exceptionally well from day one. They give good support on the heel, and leave plenty of space in the toe box. When they're on my feet I don't think about my feet (maybe my legs, but my boots can't help with that). Pricey, but worth it if you want a boot that's comfortable and that will last an exceptionally long time.

Update 8/2019
I am updating my previous review. I found these again in size US 11/EU 45.5 here on Amazon and they were 120 bux off in that size compared to Zamberlans web site. I pulled the trigger again and they were delivered in much better condition and the fit is perfect with a heavy sock. They seem a bit darker brick and after adding the Zambi Hydroblock they are bit darker still. Keepers! As with most things Zamberlan these boots are exceptionally well made of quality materials. I have other models that I would give 5+ stars. These were/are on sale and decided to pull trigger. Received promptly to AK. Unfortunately they were shipped in a plastic bag with just the shoe box inside resulting in the box being pretty much destroyed. The boots could have but were not damaged. I found these to be a bit tight compared to the other NW designs from Zamberlan US10.5 EU 45. Finally the color is waxed brick but I found them to be almost orange. Perhaps they would darken with age and more waxing but decided to return for the above reasons. Too spendy to not be completely happy. YMMV...

Not worth the money
These boots are okay but for the price it wasn’t as comfortable as expected. I gave them a fair chance and wore them for a few months before I left a review. They are holding up thus far. But over priced. Wouldn’t purchase again.

What a fantastic boot. I have been a Danner guy for ...
What a fantastic boot. I have been a Danner guy for many years, but have had some issues with fit and comfort as I have gotten older. I was looking for a high quality handmade waterproof bombproof boot, and this is it! Beautiful workmanship...you get these out of the box and just want to admire them for a hour or two before you even begin to wear them. These are, frankly, the most comfortable, highest quality, most finely crafted boots I have ever laid my hands on--and I have had Danner, Filson, Orvis, and other high end boots. None compare to these. The fit is true to size, and they are very comfortable right out of the box. These are among the most expensive hiking boots I have ever purchased, but they are worth every penny, and as soon as you put these babies on, you wont begrudge a dime of what you paid for them. They are to boots what Leica is to optics. Simply the best. I fully expect that these boots will last me for the rest of my hiking days. You will not be disappointed.

Outstanding!
Just finished my first hike in these boots (8.5 miles, 1000ft. elevation). Let me start by saying, I need a boot with NO flex in the forefoot due to a LisFranc foot injury I sustained years ago trying to do a trials motorcycle “maneuver”! I have a pair of Zamberlan Vioz, but they have too much flex, so I emailed Zamberlan with my issue, and they recommended these boots.Right out the box, they were extremely comfortable, and I expect them to get more comfortable over time. The boots appear to be very well constructed (Norwegian welt), and the fit and finish is outstanding.I threw on a pair of SmartWool sock and headed out with my 2 dogs. The shoes were extremely solid (a bit heavy initially, but soon forgotten), had excellent traction, and after 2.5 hours in steep rocky terrain, I didn’t develop a single hot spot or any discomfort; very impressed!Bottom line: Expensive boots, but oh my, they are oh so good!

I so wanted to love these boots…
I only leave reviews when a product or service is really good, or really bad. In this case, these boots are really bad. I wore these boots on average (5) day a week for approximately (11) months. Both heals blew out and the treads basically fell off. After spending $479.95 on these I was hoping to get 2-3 years of wear out of them. So disappointing!I would definitely not recommend purchasing this boots!

Zamberlan Doesn't care about you
I bought these boot about 6 years ago and really love them.. but unfortunately, a month ago I found that the sole just started to break apart.. the layer that is under the vibram sole (I think it is a kind of cushioning) just destroyed..For the serious boots like these it is very strange to happen..I turned to USA Zamberlan - they dont care... about you and the problem, Backcountry just the same (they cannot offer anything above the brand offer...)... But they could take a part of responsibility for the product they sell, I suppose.. But they're not.*Boots are tough and heavy... And could have from me the highest rank I think.. I love them.
