It worked instantly. Just make sure you do not set your playstation to RGB mode and everything will work just fine. It doesn't lag. It looks great. And it's good value.It does require external power but I found plugging the USB into the PlayStation works just fine.

It's a shame that people are leaving bad reviews because basically everything they're complaining about wouldn't be a problem if they'd done the most basic research. It says in the description here and IN the box that you need to switch the settings to Y/Pb/Pr to be able to view it. It also supplies a USB cable that you can loop around to the front of the console to supply the power, so you don't need an adaptor. This cable works great, I was put off for a bit due to the bad reviews but turns out they're just being stupid!It looks fantastic, completely clear and much better colours than the composite cables that come with the PS2, and the sound is much better too. There's no longer an annoying cable buzzing sound, and also as an added bonus you can plug in headphones into the adapter. I'm very happy with the purchase!

Really good, thankfully came with instructions too. Only downside was needed to be connected to an older TV with RGB output to change the settings on the PS2 to allow it to work on our new TV.The kids are now happy that they can play SSX tricky and Crash Bandicoot etc.Definitely worth the money, Sound and picture quality is excellent.

Initially worked well and does bring PS2 games to life on HD TV’s with brighter colours and definition but then suddenly stopped by parking for no reason. Hadn’t used it in about 2 weeks and when I tried it didn’t connect.Tried reaching to the product support page but got no response hence the 1 star

Initially this product did not work.My tv doesn't support SCART, but it does have AV (standard tv aerial), so using my old PS1 cable I altered the settings on my PS2 from RGB(SCART) to Y/CR/PR. Then using this product (plugging it into the PS2's USB port to power the adaptor) I can play my PS2 in HDMI. The instructions attached to the product are awful. I just had to think laterally to solve the problem.

Works perfectly as long as you follow the instructions and connect it properly, very happy now i can play my PS2 on my big TV, excellent item does what it says, just have to be careful to set it up properly as per the instructions and once up and running its perfect.
