UPDATED: Just what my birdbath needed!
UPDATE: Still lovin' this Solar Fountain Pump! It's been a couple of months now and it still works great. In my situation, it requires some attention due to the location of the bird bath in my yard. Falling leaves, bird feathers (they LOVE this!), insects, etc) will get in the water. However, even with some debris clogging the water intake cover, it still pumps like a champ. The wind will blow the spray out of the bird bath, requiring a refill once a day or so. The solar cells and the rechargeable battery allow this to run from sunrise to after sunset, even when a cloudy day. SO happy with this purchase!!I've had this Viajero Latest Upgrade 2.5W Solar Fountain Pump for about a week now and it is GREAT! It worked perfectly right out of the box and has been running the entire time (except at night). From direct sunlight to passing clouds and even in partial shade, it keeps pumping water. I assume a lot of that continuous action is due to the internal rechargeable battery, which is definitely worth the slight additional cost. The assortment of nozzles allow slightly different spray patterns and it was fun playing around with them to find the best one to fit our birdbath. A breeze will definitely move the pump around the birdbath so I tied a short piece of dental floss to the bottom of the pump and to a heavy metal nut to act as an anchor...perfect!The only "issue" I had was trying to remove the protective plastic film from the solar panels. I didn't want to damage them so I just left it in place and it still works perfectly. Maybe when I bring it in for the winter I'll try again.

Stopped working after 2 weeks.
The pump arrived on time and undamaged. Out of the box the pump worked like a champ as soon as I put it in my bird bath and continued to work until today when POOF, it just stopped for some reason. The sun was shining directly on the solar panel so I knew that wasn't the problem. I did another cleaning of the pump per the instructions and comments of other users but I had already cleaned the bath itself and the pump a week after it was in use for maintenance so I hoped cleaning it today would solve the issue.Unfortunately, it did not.I contacted Amazon customer service support today via text and they promptly sent me a return label via email and are shipping me a replacement unit delivering tomorrow. The Amazon customer service response was 5 stars! Quick and easy.To be fair, I really did like this pump while it worked so fingers crossed that it was just a faulty unit. While it was working, the unit did exactly as advertised. It pumped at full stream during direct sunlight and overcast. Once the sun went down the battery kicked in and still continued to pump intermittently for about 5 seconds on and 5 seconds off until the battery ran out of juice. But as soon as it recharged the next day (with sun or overcast) it would run a steady stream without missing beat. My hummingbirds and other backyard visitors really did enjoy it so hopefully the new unit will last longer.I didn't use the attachments as I really wanted the water to stay in the birdbath and work more as a bubbler, especially for the hummingbirds.Losing water at a quick rate and only working in direct sunlight was the issue I had with all the other solar fountains I purchased in the past and this fountain solved those issues. For now, I have to leave this with 1 star since the first unit stopped working but I will update my rating if the replacement works as promised. If there's no further issues, I will gladly up this to 5 stars.

Actually works
In full sun, spray can be up to 18" tall. Not bad for a 7" dia. floating pump. When on battery only, will pump only a few inches. I have it in a 500 gallon waterlily tank to aerate the water for the goldfish. It took a couple of days for the mucky water to partially block the screen. Only took minutes to clean including the pump wheel (inside). Only need to unsnap two parts. Re assembles easily. Be sure to snap them on securely so you don’t loose them in the bottom of the pond. Shake like a Frisbee motion until you hear clunks. Pump starts back up when in water.Remove fountain head when cleaning to be sure there is nothing in the pump body.I recommend remove and replacing the screen before use so you know how to clean when it gets fouled.Tiny pump, but it works. The whole unit is surprisingly small. The suction cups on the bottom of the pump are + 1/4”. Not sure they would hold onto anything that was not smooth as glass.Edit: When cleaning pump, there are three parts that can come off. The screen (cover), baffle, and impeller. The outer two parts snap off. The impeller rotates inside the pump body. It is held in place with magnet. Tap the side of disk on hand to pop the impeller out. Be sure it does not fly out into pond or you can loose it. Turn away from pond when disassembling pump.

Bad design causing fountain to be undependable
The first one I ordered worked for about 2 hours before crapping out. I had no problems with Amazon exchanging it for another one. The return and replacement was quick and easy. The replacement one worked out of the box, but began to do what the first one did which was to shut itself off. What I noticed in both instances was that the pump would kick on if I held the device upside down. Once turning it right side up, the pump would shut off. There is a little box mounted next to the pump that it’s hardwired into. This box has a tiny floating valve in it. That valve is what triggers the pump. Once I submerged the unit, I had a hard time getting that float valve to float and so the pump wasn’t working. The instructions were not helpful but after a bit of fidgeting I got the valve to float and the pump kicked on.After a week, the fountain stopped working even on bright sunny days. After much fidgeting I could get it to start, and after five minutes it would shut itself off. Bottom line, the float device that triggers the pump is a bad design, And will cause the unit to operate erratically. This device is undependable. Because of that I have to give it a thumbs down, I would not advise purchase of this product.
