Buy This If You Want to Sleep!
We bought this for our 1 month old son, because each time we'd place him in his bassinet, he'd wake up. We tried everything to get him to stay asleep, and then someone recommended this, so we thought we'd give it a try, since we were desperate to sleep.PROSThe gliding motion is smooth, not jarring or jerky at all, like some reviewers have claimed. We replace the batteries (it takes 3-4...can't quite remember how many, D batteries) once a month. This thing is on from about 9 pm-9 am.The bassinet turns in 360', so you can turn the bassinet in any direction. The color scheme is pretty neutral, so it fits most nursery/bedroom decor. It's rather quiet but recently, we started hearing a low squeaking noise. It's not loud enough to bother our baby or us, since we have on a lot of white noise, but even if we just had a fan going, it's not too bad.The liner is soft and cozy. We thought it might be too warm--our son was born in the summer, but it was just fine. Now that it's winter, we don't worry about the fleece-y lining.Small footprint (small, doesn't take up too much space)Heavy base, secureAnd lastly, OUR BABY SLEEPS SOUNDLY IN IT!!!CONSWe don't like that it sits low to the ground. We wished it were taller, like a traditional bassinet, but we placed this bassinet next to our bed, and all I have to do is lean down from my side of the bed, if I want to check on him (which I do often). The activity bar is useless. It's kind of cute but we never used it.The songs are ok, but we never play themWished it were expandable to hold baby as he grows. We are panicking because we don't know what we'll do once our son outgrows the bassinet (hold ups to 25 pounds).FINAL RECOMMENDATIONDefinitely buy if your newborn won't stay asleep, or if s/he has trouble staying asleep.

My baby's favorite!
I love this glider. I had tried several different products - a variety of bouncy chairs and swings, and this is the one that works for me every time. It's so soothing the way it glides.... my baby girl loves it! Puts her right to sleep :) Sometimes she just relaxes while she's awake and glides back and forth and listens to music. It runs off batteries but they last a surprisingly long time. I use it every day for hours and haven't had to replace batteries yet. My cousin also has one and she loves it as well. All babies are different but I would definitely recommend this! Seller was great, package arrived very timely and excellent condition.

The cloth material is very soft and comfortable and the headrest doesn't do that awkward thing that ...
Unfortunately, the motor stopped working within a few minutes of use. Based on several reviews, this appears to be a common problem with this product. However, Amazon shipped a new one within two days. Without a printer, I requested for them to send me a shipping label. Unfortunately, it never came in the mail in the allotted time to expect it. When I wrote them back about this, they apologized for the inconvenience, told me that the shipping label wouldn't get to me before the due date that I had been meant to return the item and said to simply keep both gliders for the price of one. I can't say enough how professional and accommodating Amazon is with its customers! Any problem I've ever had, they've fixed it promptly and at MY convenience, rather than the other way around. As far as the glider itself goes, here's my review:The glider was well received by my newborn. The bed of the glider is deep and there's plenty of room for further growth. The cloth material is very soft and comfortable and the headrest doesn't do that awkward thing that puts the baby's neck at an weird angle. And, even if the product seems to be cheaply made, the soft material and dust ruffle thing balances that out. It looks as elegant as the picture shows.Waiting for the replacement glider, my newborn seemed fine enough with just laying in it without the gliding function. In fact, once I received the new glider, the movement of it only seemed to bother him. As other reviews suggest, there are some jerky movements to the gliding motion and the Slow and Fast speeds have little to no difference to me. If anything, Fast speed seems to make it more jerky. The music is nothing spectacular. It's the same in every baby product you end up with. The volume level on it seems typical, as well. Not overly loud or soft. I rarely use it, though. All in all, the glider isn't a bad buy. For $80, I have a bassinet type thing that my newborn likes and the batteries don't go very quickly considering most of its electrical functioning aren't all that important to him. All baby products are a risk factor of a baby's unique opinion anyway. With both the product being a success as far as getting my newborn out of my arms for a few minutes to an hour and the pleasant experience I had with Amazon when things didn't turn out the way I wanted them to, I could say that this product is still worth recommending.

Sleep mobile
Have you heard of the gnome mobile? Well this is the sleep mobile. We've used it for a couple months now, and our 2 1/2 old son is loving it still. He wouldn't sleep in a bassinet, and we needed sleep. This was the vehicle to sleep. It is noisy, and only has two speeds, but it works great. He won't sleep at night in a swing or other contraption, but this is excellent. It just glides and makes weird noises as it goes back and forth. That's all it does. The music isn't very useful over the top of the loud grinding noise it makes. We use it about 8 hours a night, and change the batteries every 3 weeks. Takes 4 D batteries. It's worth a decent night's sleep.

Not ideal for tall/long babies
I bought this at the suggestion of my mother-in-law who is a neonatal nurse in the NICU. She raved about how the sick babies she takes care of LOVE this product. Unfortunately, the hospital she works at has old or discontinued models because this one is quite "short." My husband and I are not tall in any sense of the word and yet our 3-month old's feet dangle slightly over the bottom rail. Additionally, for being such a bulky and heavy product, it would have been nice to have an adapter. This glider functions solely on D batteries. The one time my little one used it, he quite enjoyed the plush material, the mobile, and the "gliding" ... I had such high hopes but unfortunately this just didn't make the cut.
