Crispy bacon in 4-5 minutes; No mess, easy to clean, pour fat in sprout, pat dry paper towel
Sistema Microwave Easy Bacon ReviewThis bacon container will hold up to 4 slices of bacon at a time. The slices of bacon will use up all the space in the container and will go up on the sides of it; push the ends down a little bit with your finger so that you can get the lid on. The bacon will shrink after a few minutes of cooking and will fit nicely at the center of the container; need to reposition the bacon after the 4 minutes. It will take 4-5 minutes of cooking to get crisp bacon – the microwave I have is 1,000 watts. Keep in mind, the container can’t be any bigger so that the container will fit the size of most microwave ovens. I do not cut my bacon to fit container – just place 4 slices side by side with the ends going up the sides - don’t worry it will work out – at least it worked out for me why not you.Yes, the bacon will be in the grooves where the fat will collect; yes, the container does have a sprout to tilt the container and pour out the fat. The bacon will slide to the titled side and be in the fat. You can pat dry the fat on the bacon with paper towel after the bacon has finished. Just open the lid, center the bacon, put it back in the microwave after 4 minutes for 30 second intervals until you get the crispiness you desire – the bacon will be completely done 4-5 minutes – don’t need to cook over 5 minutes for crispiness. Easy to clean! I experienced after several times of cooking with container – no damage to cover or base – looks great after use and after cleaning it with dish washing liquid. No mess in microwave oven because of the lid.• Bacon is crisp (after 4-5 minutes)• Spout for easy pouring off excess fat• Secure lid for splatter-proof cooking• Microwave is clean after use• Easy to clean container• This unit is expensive; Micro ware covered bacon rack at Wal-Mart maybe another alternative only 7-8 dollars I haven’t tried it out yet but do have it• Microwave container will hold 4 slices of bacon• I paid $21.53 at Amazon Global Store UK; I live in the USA• I had great experiences with this Sistema bacon container• I will post updates if damage to unit or other note-worthy experiences do occur in the future

It Does What It Is Supposed To Do
First of all, be prepared to cut your bacon in half, the pan is not long enough for a strip of bacon. Laying them long ways in the pan, you can only get 4 strips in. While cooking, the bacon tends to slide off into the grease gutter. The second time I used this, I turned the bacon to lay on the rack across the width. Still could only get 4 strips in but the bacon stayed on the rack and out of the gutter. I read on the box where it said the cooking times suggested were based on a 900 watt microwave. Mine is a 1000 watt so I set the cook power to 90% and cooked at 30 second intervals as suggested. It took 3.5 to 4 minutes to cook the bacon. The bacon was crispy. I let the cooker set for 2-3 minutes between cooks also as suggested. I found trying to pour off the grease collected using the built-in spouts rather messy. It was easier and faster just to pour the grease off at one of the corners of the pan and wipe the corner with a paper towel. Clean up was a breeze. I haven't tried cooking anything else in it yet. It does what it is supposed to.

This easy bacon container is helpful.
I love the fact that when I put the bacon for three minutes it comes crispy, just the way I like it, ;) ( but is all dependents of your microwave, so the first time try different settings)Just don’t put so many 3 to 4.In the stove I have the same results but I have to be there to make sure it comes the way that I like, but they were times that I didn’t feel it to use the stove and I put the bacon in plates, but it was a completely mess in the micro, that is why I ordered this and I loved;the only thing that I don’t like is that it doesn’t close complétele so when I have to take the oil cause is better to do it when is hot, I have to hold both sides, but knowing that is not bad at all.

Sistema Baconb Cooker
I just received this product yesterday afternoon! I used it this morning to fix myself some bacon. It worked perfectly for nice crisp bacon. Only take 3 minutes! I love how the tray is grooved so it holds the bacon in place, and the plate has spouts so you can poor off the grease. The best product for fixing bacon! It has a lid so NO SPLATTERS! No wiping down the stove top, or in this case microwave!!! Easy to clean. A remarkable product! Keep up the good work!

Nice option for microwaving bacon.
This product does a very good job microwaving sliced bacon. The only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5: it has warped slightly after a few uses (not enough to affect performance) and it is slightly shorter than some of the pieces of bacon I have placed in it. Bacon comes out nice and can be a s crisp a you desire. Easy to pour off fat and very easy to clean. A plus is that it is dishwasher safe.

It Works! For a few slices of Bacon
First, I only purchase center-cut bacon, so this may not apply for those who buy the long strips of bacon in the grocery store. This device holds about 4-5 slices of center cut bacon which is about one serving for me and that is just fine. Three to four minutes in a 1200 W microwave is enough to make crisp bacon. As always one must be careful when removing from the microwave the thing will be very hot and contain hot bacon fat.For those who buy the standard grocery store bacon , this may not work very well.

. I would certainly buy it again.Does the job
Once you get the correct setting for your microwave it does a great job on your bacon soft or hard. I’m always a little leery of removing it from the microwave without spilling the drippings but it’s worked out so far.Drippings empty easily into another container. Dishwasher does a great job on the container. I would certainly buy it again.

Not as good as it seems
They must have some funny sized bacon in New Zealand .....To be fair, the concept of this is easy .... put some bacon inside, close the lid and Nuke it for around 3 minutes in the microwave, and then do again in 30 second increments until your happy.Problem is, it's not quite that simple (for me).First of all, I only managed three rashers inside, so the size of your bacon will thus dictate the number of rashers you can cook at any one time. For my first attempt, I used Asda Butchers own. After 3 minutes, the middle rasher was VERY crispy whilst the outside two were not that well cooked - the bottom of the dish however was full of water - testamount to Asda Butchers bacon needing water wings.I did cook for a while longer and all was fine(ish), so yes, it does cook bacon, but the speed of which and the number of rashers cooked will depend on the quality of the bacon itself. One major niggle - the button on the top of the lid is fixed in place, and once you wash it up, you'll find enough water trapped underneath to keep a goldfish happy. Squeezing the sides does release the water, but it's a swine for drying inside. Several thousand points deducted for a poorly designed lid handle.

Very hard to clean, cooking time longer than grill
I bought this because I thought it would cook bacon faster than under the grill and be easier to clean afterwards. It doesn't, and it's not.I can put 6 slices of bacon under the grill and it takes 7-8 minutes for them to turn lightly crispy. Most of the fat drips onto the foil underneath the rack, so after cooking I fold up the foil, put it in the bin and scrub the rack and grill pan with washing up liquid and warm water.I can only fit 3 slices of bacon in this microwaveable container. It takes 4.5 minutes for them to turn lightly crispy, however the base of the container is convex, so as the bacon cooks and shrivels up the rashers slide down into the outer grooves, which is where all the water and fat are. I had to take the container out of the microwave twice during cooking to drain the fat out so that the bacon could crisp up, so let's say it took a total of 5 minutes to cook, including draining time. Then 5 minutes for the next 3 slices. That's a total of 10 minutes, which is 2-3 minutes longer than the grill, plus they needed more attention (for draining), plus the first 3 slices were tepid by the time the second 3 slices were ready. The instructions say to wait 5 minutes between uses to let it cool down. I didn't, but if you followed the instructions that would be a total of 15 minutes and the first 3 slices would be cold. The fat which had been drained into the sink had already solidified, and unlike the grill I couldn't lift the remaining fat out of the container because there was no foil. Despite having been drained 4 times the container was still so unbelievably greasy that washing up liquid and warm water were not enough to clean it. I had to boil a kettle and use a LOT of Cillit Bang degreaser spray. A lot. I had to wash the container several times before it didn't look greasy anymore and now water is draining more slowly from the sink, so presumably all the grease is just sitting in the pipes. The bacon looked shrivelled and unappetising (fortunately I was cooking it for someone else) and I would never use this container again. It has made the grill seem fast and easy-clean.

Cooks bacon. What more do you need
I bought this to cook bacon in work where I only have access to a microwave but no oven.I've only cooked streaky bacon in it so far but I can't see why it wouldn't handle other bacon the same. You place the bacon on the tray, place the lid over it and then pop it into the microwave. I found 4 minutes is perfect for crispy bacon (800w).The bacon does shrink somewhat as it does in a frying pan and you are left with a lot of fat in the bottom which is where one of the features comes in handy. On each side (not the handle sides) there is a drainage hole to drain the fat away meaning your bacon isn't just sitting it in.I love this product and will be using it for a long time to come

Sistema Quality
I have a fair amount of Sistema products from soup mugs to microwave containers with baskets inside for cooking veggies. I must admit that I was sceptical about cooking bacon in the microwave, but I had to eat my words when I first tried this out. You can't overlap the bacon, so I placed 4 rashers of Tesco Finest streaky bacon on the rippled plate, then put the included cover over it. I totally ignored the instructions of zap it for 30 seconds at a time, and just went for 2 minutes in my old 800 watt microwave, and the bacon came out perfectly. The rippling in the bottom tray and the reservoir means that the fat has somewhere to go, rather than your bacon swimming in it. Sistema have also considered how to pour away the residue by including a spout on either side. My advice is to pour the old fat into a container as soon as you remove the bacon, as it will make this easier to clean. Please don't pour it down the sink!A very good product that I would be happy to recommend.

Excellent product
I have only recently come to microwave cooking since moving into a centre city apartment with a much smaller kitchen and my daughters eventually convinced me to make more use of the machine, not just defrosting items from the freezer.I purchased several items from the Sistema range of microwave dishes including this one. To my utter surprise it actually works with bacon. I have now experimented successfully with crispy streaky bacon, thick and thin back bacon, bacon chops, and found it very simple to get exactly the results I wanted with a little bit of patient experimentation cooking in 30 sec. increments. I have even cooked sausages in the dish, which only take 2-3 minutes and then a couple of minutes under the grill function to crisp the skin.Perfect for that Sunday cooked breakfast treat! An ideal accessory for the man living alone who doesn't want to mess with frying pans and piles of washing up. The microwave dishes are sturdy, well made, simple to clean and wash out in warm soapy water without any stains or sticky mess.
