Perfect Non-Sterile Telfa Dressing for Large or Awkward Areas
These are fantastic. It was very hard to find Telfa pads in the size I needed, so these have been great. I'm a caretaker for my parents, and my mother had a very large red scaly patch on her mid to lower back that was biopsied as squamous cell carcinoma in situ. Because of her age, other infirmities, and the sheer size of the affected area, she isn't really a good surgical candidate. Since December 2024, I've been applying topical chemo to a very large area and about 10 days into treatment I needed to start using some sort of pad to protect her clothes from the reaction. I did not need sterile pads, and these are not, which is important to note for others, but they were large enough that I could cut them to properly cover an ever-changing reactive treatment site in a challenging location that needed breathable covering. I like that the Telfa is on one side and the material is a soft absorbent brushed cotton-like material., which made adherence good and also gave me material outside for taping effectively. These have caused no irritation with almost two months of twice daily changes and despite some exudate, not shirts or pajamas have been ruined. Very pleased with these and was glad to find them here.

From a burn/wound surgeon: Excellent product. Makes wound care MUCH easier. Super economical
I am a burn and general surgeon and use this product (8x10" telfa) extensively in the hospital and in clinic to simplify wound care for burn and major wound patients. It is very easy to use and very inexpensive. Because of its large size it greatly simplifies wound care and you can trim it to fit. Simply paste some ointment/cream on it such as aquaphor, bacitracin, or silver sulfadiazene and then wrap it with a kerlix gauze and elastic bandage or stretch net retention dressing and you have a very easy, reliable, and less painful (because it minimizes sticking) form of wound care that will help with most burns, skin grafts, donor sites, and open wounds. Remember the plastic side goes down. With low exudative wounds or wounds at low risk of infection the dressing can be changed out every 2 to 3 days.

Sooo happy!
I have a very rare skin disease that affects my lower legs.. it’s debilitating painful and the medications require dressing changes twice a day. I’ve been using about 30-40 3x8 non adherent guaze pads for 2 months now.. It’s been a nightmare. I just received these and did my dressing change and only needed 3 for each leg. Granted I’m quite small 130 pounds but these are going to really cut down on costs and TIME. So glad I found them. (These are shiny side down. They won’t stick too bad. But I apply medication to my wounds first.)

Perfect Underlayer For Dressing Large Areas of Wounds, But Why Aren't They Individually Wrapped?
If you're like me, having to help dress the wounds of someone with lymphedema and cellulitis over a significant part of a large, very swollen, area (legs), these pads are a GODSEND.They're non adherent on one side, meaning you don't need like an Adaptic dressing or whatever in between, you won't have to worry about it sticking so hard to the wound that it debrides it (removes a layer or more of flesh) when you don't want it to. It's pretty flexible, and soft, so it's gentle on wounds and relatively easy to wrap around say, a limb. They're also HUGE for a wound pad, (which more commonly tend to come in sizes like 2" by 2", 4"x4" or maybe 3" x 8"), so I only need two per leg even though he's a big guy with a LOT of swelling adding to the girth of the leg; this has cut down significantly on time and struggle with trying to dress the wounds (which are basically everywhere on the lower legs) , compared to having to use those floppy wet Adaptic mesh dressings underneath and/or kludge together a bunch of smaller pads with bandaids or medical tape... which if you're not an octopus, can be a nightmare and take forever. Even with the cleaning, two rolls of gauze per leg, a second layer of more absorbent pads, and one or two ace bandages to hold it all together...it took like, 15 minutes?? Instead of 45 minutes or longer. Given how exhausting dressing these things has been, I'm SO happy I found this particular product, in this big size! For those who want an "expert" opinion, too, I found out yesterday that the Medical Assistant at our local clinic whose specialty is wound care? She prefers Telfa pads as well; she loves everything but the price lol. Also, they seem to be surprisingly absorbent for a pad so thin? Which is very nice. The price, less so, but if you can afford to spring for the upfront cost of a big 125 pack like I did, it works out to less than 50 cents a pad, which is not too shabby, and compared to using a jillian little ones, winds up being more economical in the long run.Literally my only gripe (prices aside) is that with the huge packs of 8x10 pads, they are for some reason not individually wrapped?? The smaller Telfa pads, like the 3"x8" ones, come with each pad in its own individual paper wrapper, which is much easier to store and keep clean before use. Especially since the wrapping for the packaging is paper and fairly easy to tear. But I guess if you have a sterile storage solution or are treating like a rapidly bleeding life threatening trauma wound, having fewer barriers to the pads might be okay?TLDR: if you need a non adherent underlayer for a LARGE section of wound dressing, I highly recommend these. If you're likely to go through a large number of them and can afford the over $50 cost of one, I also highly reccomend getting the 125 packs. But, I do wish the packaging was a little more secure/individually wrapped the pads. I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the packaging!

Great for sensitive wounds
i have been in wound care for a while and so many patients are moved to tears every dressing change. I ordered this on a whim cause i could not get my usual non-adherent dressing. both i and my patients have been very satisfied with how it DOES NOT hurt to remove.I put a low score for 'absorbency' cause in my opinion this is not an "absorbent" dressing - it's main purpose is to be minimally adherent. If the wound is heavily exudative then an absorbent layer can be added as a secondary layer
