Lenovo Genuine IBM Lenovo ThinkPad Battery (40Y6799)

I assumed by the description given that this battery was a "Lenova" battery. My laptop says it is not a genuine "Lenova" battery and cannot guarantee the performance of my laptop with this battery. It does work but now I'm confident of it's longevity. We'll see.

After using a different battery replacement which lasted only a couple of months, this has worked well and I'm hopeful it has a long life!

I received the part I ordered and it wouldn't hold a charge so the company replaced it with a 9-cell battery that works great. Great customer service.

I purchased this battery because I wanted a new, genuine Lenovo battery for my ThinkPad T61 to replace a failing original battery. But not every seller of this item may be selling new, genuine Lenovo.The battery I received -- while having a Lenovo label on it -- led ThinkPad's Power Manager software to report: "The battery installed in this computer is not a genuine Lenovo battery and may not meet Lenovo's safety and quality standards." The battery did not come with the usual Lenovo documentation or in standard Lenovo packaging.It also had been on the shelf for several months before I received it, showing a manufacturing date of early 11/09; I received it 4/10, five months later.I suspect the battery I received was re-manufactured, or had new cells, in a Lenovo battery shell (which also had a different Lenovo part number than the one listed here). I've returned it to Amazon as it's not what was represented. The seller I bought it from (fulfilled by Amazon) is, at least as I write this, no longer listed as an option for purchasing this item new.It's worth checking ThinkPad's Power Manager after you receive the battery to make sure it's what you expect. A true Lenovo accessory battery also comes in a box labeled "PC Options" (Lenovo's accessory brand) with the part number 40Y6799 on the PC Options bar code label. Inside, there should be a Lenovo battery warranty flier with the battery. That's what arrived after I purchased a replacement from a different seller elsewhere.

I was wary of purchasing this after reading the other reviews - similar batteries are on sale as "OEM-equivalent" parts at a much lower price.The battery arrived in a Genuine Lenovo box - complete with hologram seal.Manufacture date was late 2010 - so sitting on the shelf for a while - but this is an older laptop and I guess inventory does not turn over so quickly.Happy so far - I'll give an updated review after a month or so.

I'm doubly impressed with this battery. First, it consistently provides 2.5 hours of battery life on my T60p with the screen at full brightness. Secondly, the batteries being shipped are very new. Unlike many battery resellers these batteries weren't sitting in a warehouse for 6 months. I ordered and received a battery in mid-January 07 that was manufactured at the end of December 06 according to the IBM battery utility. Now that is a quick supply chain!

Hatte vorher einen Nachbau-Akku (angeblich beste Qualität usw.), der aber nichtmal stabil die Nennspannung liefern konnte, sodass das Thinkpad T61 bei CPU-Volllast sich im Akkubetrieb einfach ausschaltete (trotz 100% Ladung).Habe den Billigakku dann zurückgegeben und diesen Originalakku hier gekauft. Mit dem gibt es diese Probleme selbstverständlich nicht, und die Thinkpad-Tools meckern natürlich auch nicht mehr über einen Nicht-Originalakku.Fazit: Lieber gleich den Originalakku kaufen, auch wenn er das Doppelte kostet. Der gesparte Ärger macht den Aufpreis locker wett.

Lieferung gut und pünktlich.Akkut hält das, was man von Lenovo/IBM erwartet. Betriebsdauer exakt so wie beschrieben.Nächster Akku wird wieder hier bestellt.
