Great value
My daughter just turned 7 and loves this game. As per all the other reviews, had to learn how to use stylus to make horse do all the moves but once past that learning curve is loving the game. Makes her use her math skills as she likes to save her $ for the prettiest horses. Definitely can't go wrong for the price!!

My daughter loves it
I bought this game for my 7 year old because she wanted it. I played with it for a little bit when we first got it, I am 29 and it was at first a little frustrating to me and yes I lost interest. When she first started playing she had a little bit of a hard time trying to get the ponies to run and do what they were supposed to do but you have to "train" your horse and it takes some getting used to figuring out all the commands. Basically you start out with a pony and you train it and groom it, you then take it to events, you have to place in the top 3 to win any money, with the money you win you go buy new horses and gear. She loves the game, it has been about 2 months and it is the only game she has been playing. She gets about 30 minutes of DS time ONLY if all homework is done and night time chores are done, so she doesn't get to play all the time, but she still hasn't lost interest so I am guessing it is a good pick for 7-8 year old girls.

championship pony
my 5 year old loves horses so i thought this would be an easy game for her. she however was not very interested in it and hasn't even attempted to play it since her initial try. maybe she will like it when she is older?

Champ Pony - a little tough
My 7 yr old was not overly enthused to play the game. It may get better as she ages a bit.

Great for a 6 yr old.
My daughter loves horses and she loves this game. She gets to pick her own character and horse out and ride the horse, etc. She knows more than I do on this. I tried the game and I thought it was boring but for a 6 year old its great.

My 11 year old daughter loves this ds game. Its a little changelleing at times, which is what we wanted. She takes riding lessons and loves horses. This game was perfect for her.

6yr old girl
I bought this game for my 6yr old girl who LOVES horses. You get to pick your horse and stuff, then purchase your own items like a saddle, a hair braid at the store. You can even buy a new horse! You have to complete competitions in order to get money to use in the store. The competitions were a little hard at first, but my little girl is getting better at them now. You have to steer the horse through some obstacles, sometimes jumping logs and stuff. This is all done with the stylus on the screen, so that was tough for my beginner DS daughter. She has improved though!
