Tough set up- works AWESOME!!
The set up instructions are very poor, read very very carefully. Once i got it set up- read and follow each step and add in a couple more to get it set ip. Once set up IT IS AWESOME!! I use it as a back up but used it at a friends place in the country- zero internet on the property and we had a great ZOOM CALL using IT!! Buy it!

Doesn't work properly with Verizon and no support from manufacturer
Bought this unit here on Amazon to use as a failover internet connection for our business. Upgraded to latest firmware, and then tried to use with a known working Verizon SIM card that we'd tested in a portable hotspot device. The RUT240 recognized the SIM and after setup using verizonvzw APN (same as our working hotspot) it claimed that the SIM was registered - but there was no connectivity, and the main RUT status page showed nothing. After spending about two hours trying various things that has been mentioned by other users including other APNs, selecting towers manually, etc. etc., I tried to get a trouble ticket going with Teltonika - but lo and behold, their website states they won't support any equipment not purchased directly from them (!), instead you have to use their "community support" forum which is mainly loaded with other confused and frustrated end users i.e. the blind leading the blind.A ridiculous and completely unacceptable way to do business, IMO. Sending units back for refund.

Does it job, but not for beginners
I'll start with this tidbit, if your provider is a MVDO, you'll need to rollback the firmware. It will just scan constantly with the firmware it ships with, and newer will not work. The device also takes some technical knowhow. Setup is not like a store bought Netgear or Linksys router. The RutOS is flexible, and runs reasonably well.I have this device permanently installed at my Northwoods cabin, with an external flat panel antenna.I also have a wireless router attached, running in AP mode, because the onboard wifi is very weak.

Imported and not Verizon compatible
Seller keep go is selling non valid imei for Verizon units, cannot be activated.EDITThe unit itself is great and a great value compared to other name brands.UI is simple enough, but RutOS (DDWRT/LuCi) is lacking in some areas.IPSec VPN has an issue in the latest version (as of 11/19/20) that prevents full AES256-SHA512 usage and must instead use AES192. Likely some sort of hash calc problem. Tried on multiple VPN servers.IPSec VPN also cannot do full routing of remote peers (0.0.0.0/0) to HQ server and will cause the device to stop passing traffic and stops the mobile connection that will only restart after a modem restart.

It just stays connected!
Set it up and forget it! Great for off grid connectivity.

Easy to setup. Works with Verizon LTE SIM.
Easy to setup with Verizon SIM. I did need to purchase a SIM adapter. Otherwise, it "just works" out of the box. The Teltonika RMS is the real gem.
