The only review you need to read!
Listen. I'm not going to tell you about how easy this was to assembled, it just was. I'm not going to go on out how well it pulls, or how comfortable our daughter is in it. You have a hundred reviews for that. I'm going to tell you about today. I'm going to say thank you to InStep. For saving my daughter....... Today..... We crashed. It's quarantine. But we are allowed to be outside, and we are taking advantage. We've decided to take this time as family, and we are riding atleast 2-3 miles a day... A family of five. In the lead, the boy, only weeks out of training wheels and showing off. Following him, my wife pulling our 13mth old in the trailer. Behind her, the middle schooler, trying out a mountain bike for the first time cus she wanted more gears... And myself, guarding from the rear. The boy went down first, just an accident. It happens. My wife got the bike to stop and the trailer stayed straight and handled well... The middleschooler... Not so much... To much bike for her. And she panic and didn't brake well. And SLAMMED into the back of the trailer at speed. She came up over the handle bars and stopped laying ontop the trailer!.... I only just got stopped behind the pile. The baby. JUST FINE... Infact she didn't even stop sipping her cuppy. The trailer took such a hit it almost knocked my wife of her bike. The only damage, a barely bent brake bar on the back, which bent back easily. The mountain bikes handle bars, front wheel, brakes, pretty much everything up front are all messed up.This thing looks like it ain't much. But OMG it has what it needs where it counts. The bars sent fiberglass, they are solid. The fabric isn't cheap. The snaps and Velcro are serious... All in all... I'm so thankful for this thing.Hope no one else ever needs to pry a teens legs out from a twisted handlebar whiles she's laying on top an infant trailer... But if you do... I RECOMMEND THIS ONE!

Classic case of you get what you pay for...
I'm providing this review from the perspective of a parent and practicing engineer. I wish I had read something similar prior to my purchase, and hope this helps people make a good decision. The design is functional, but the trailer components are very low quality to keep the price down. The mesh netting has larger openings, so your child gets covered with road dirt. The canvas is lower quality and saturates quickly even in a quick sprinkle and will end up offering little protection for your child if you get caught in the rain, which can happen unexpectedly down here in Florida. The plastic cover has good visibility, but is not equipped with any type of sun shade to protect your child from the sun. I ended up making one from a UV blocking automotive sunshade. The trailer has no suspension other than the hammock seating, which offers very little cushion for your children. The safety restraints are functional, but not very adjustable for shoulder height as your child grows and are not padded very well that can leave marks on your child. The frame is pretty sturdy, but is made of a cheaper, heavier metal to achieve strength versus higher quality trailers that often have a lighter aluminum frame. The wheels are not only made primarily of either a low quality plastic or composite, but have a very poor design that is highly susceptible to deformation when pressured near the upper end of the allowable inflation pressure range. Conversely, if the tires are inflated towards the lower range or slightly under inflated, the wheel is prone to break under impact force from simply riding on and off a sidewalk or over a curb. If you break a wheel, the cost is over $50 with taxes and shipping to replace. On top of all that, I just checked with the manufacturer and the replacement wheels are several months out on backorder somehow, which for me means potentially missing out on the best weather for riding of the season down here. The trailer is probably fine for the occasional ride (once every couple weeks or so), but if you plan on using it a couple times a week like I do, I would advise going with something higher quality like a Burley.

Considering the price, it's a good trailer/stroller but probably not ideal for pets
Let me first say, in my experience InStep is a great company which stands by their products. On a few occasions I've made requests about broken or missing parts and they send out replacements no questions asked. I feel that adds value to products in today's world. Onto the trailer/stroller...Overall I find the trailer/stroller to be good for the price. It's easy to fold up and stow when not in use and isn't overly heavy. It easily converts from trailer to stroller by simply removing the front wheel which has a hand knob. It does have it's drawbacks though. If you are considering buying this for pets, I would suggest looking elsewhere. This trailer has no bottom support. The child is really supported by the harness. Although the harness portion can be removed or folded out of the way, the bottom is just fabric. A small animal may be fine but a medium sized dog would likely dip too low. Also, the front wheel is all plastic (or a hard rubber maybe) and not pneumatic like the side wheels. I wouldn't take this over too rugged of terrain or you could cause quite a bit of damage over time.Lastly, a little suggestion, when you unpack the trailer for the first time, there are plastic caps over the ends of the wheel axles. I suggest you keep these and put them back on anytime you fold and stow the trailer. Otherwise they may end up poking through the fabric during transport. They are not sharp but they are pointy.

plastic wheels=quality concerns
We bought this trailer in 2015 after my 2nd child turning 1 who was able to seat up straight and enjoyed riding with his big sister. For the first two years' of use (from 2015-2017) we really like this trailer. We didn't use it as often as we were planning since it is Too hot and humid to do any ride in summer while too snowy to ride in winter and the winter usually lasts till late April (hahaha) (we live in mid-west). We also only used it on the weekends sometimes to ride a short distance to farmers' market (about 2 miles away), or near-by park (less than 1 mile away). Of course, we didn't do it every weekend, but i have to say when in fall (the best weather of our little town), we rode pretty frequently on weekends than other times. But what I was trying to say it that comparing to many other active parents who use their bike trailer to do long bike rides, our use of the trailer is really non-comparable. Honestly to say, I can guarantee that we only rode in that trailer less than 100 miles by far. That's why we are shocked to find that the left wheel already broke three times. First time was in 2017, and my husband bought a new wheel to replace the old one. After that, we used it very rarely to carry our son only since our daughter can already ride her bike independently. Then, last summer (2018 summer) it was broken again, then my husband ordered the new inner tire to replace it. After the 2nd replacement, we probably used it at most 2 or 3 times to do some short distance ride. Now, yesterday, when we were planning to do a family ride to a near-by supermarket, we found not only the newly assembled inner tire was broken, but the it seems that the plastic part of the wheel (you can see it from their pictures, which is the center part of the wheel that connects all spakens) got broken again which we had no idea what happened. In general, we still like the ride experience while we used it since it is roomy for both 2&5 year olds inside. The pulling was great according to my husband. Also, it feels less bumpy than some other products we tried out before on the road. So, we still suggest parents who would like to ride by pulling their kiddos in a trailer to invest a few bucks more to get a mental spaken wheels to last a longer time.

Cheap plastic wheels - replacements are expensive and on backorder. Stay away!!
I bought this bike trailer about 2 years ago. Initially I liked it. It wasn't amazing, but pretty good for the price.Shortly after the bike was out of warranty (1 year) both of the plastic wheels (back wheels) cracked leaving the trailer useless. The only explanation that I can give is that the wheels were constructed or engineered poorly. My children are well under the weight limit for the trailer and I am always careful not to over-inflate the tires (I always use a gauge to check).I left the trailer in my garage until this year when I decided to try to get it working again. I attempted to call and order replacement wheels from InStep, but was told that they were only available on back-order (2 months out) and would cost $52 with shipping (nearly a 1/3 of the cost of the entire stroller!). Looking through the reviews here on Amazon, it seems like this is a too-common occurrence. Please stay away!!

safety check your wheels!
this worked well for us for barely over a year with casual/occasional rides. recently, the tubes needed to be refilled almost every time but no big deal...until this weekend. I was inflating one of the tires and it wasn't even at recommended pressure yet and the rim blew off the wheel! when I inspected the other wheel, I found that the rim was bent and likely was going to eventually have a similar breakdown. these are plastic rim/wheel composites and there isn't a way to repair them. I'm really disappointed that our riding season is over early. my son is well under the weight limit so I don't understand why this happened to one wheel let alone both. I'm looking to see if replacement wheels are available but now I wish I'd invested in something a little more expensive that would've stood up over time rather than save the money at initial purchase only to have to replace a major component so soon after only a couple summers.

Good cart for the price
This has been a good buy for the money. I find it easy to fold and stow. I've only used it as a bike-carrier and not as a stroller. But it is not perfect and there are a few things to consider. The attachment to the bike requires the "quick-connect" or old-style bolt. I could not figure how to make it work on a new MTB hub. I have it installed on my old mountain bike with a quick-connect style hub. Works fine. The push handle for stroller mode is a bit awkward in its attachment to the unit. To get the handle high-enough to push, it needs to attach to the stroller right where the fabric of the stroller is. Also, the angle of attachment is odd if attaching it high enough to push comfortably.Like other reviews, one of the tires goes flat after every use. It is a slow-enough leak that the stroller can be used for the day, but plan on it being flat by the next use. I haven't yet taken the time to do a flat-repair and smooth out the inner rim or put tape over the inner rim of the wheel like some have suggested. Frankly, a brand-new unit should have flat tires!Still, the little kids love riding around in it!

Great, needs additional attachment for bike
My daughter loves the trailer. She is a tall 3yrold do wish there was a little more leg room And head roomfor her. The sun roof mess sits right on her head.I liked the carrying compartment in the back.I liked how it also had compartments in the cart for phones. We ordered the two seat Because of lack of options. But I like the space it offers for her. It also isn’t very wide, which is a good thing because it was easy Maneuver on the road and next to cars.So far the only thing I DID NOT LIKE is the trailer came with an attachment for the bike but it did not fit. We have 2 Treks and 2 Cannandales and it for none. I had to buy an additional attachment. That was just disappointing because we had been waiting to do family bike rides and needing something for my daughter.I bought this attachment Below and worked great for the Trek bike. Makes a great dog stroller
I am sure I can be classified as a crazy dog lady, but I bought this trailer as a stroller for my dog. He has mitral valve disease and cannot walk very far. We like to take him for long walks for our exercise, so we started looking for a stroller for him. Dog strollers are really expensive! He is a medium sized dog, so he doesn't fit into the little purse dog strollers. Anything that would fit him was minimum $150-$200. We had seen a few strollers that converted to bike trailers and though that would be nice so we could take him if we rode our bikes. When I started reading them, a lot of the dog designed ones also listed you could put your kids in them. I took the reverse idea and started looking for a children's bicycle trailer. This one seemed to have the best cost vs. reviews, which is why I decided on it.I am extremely happy with my purchase! The stoller is well made and has a really nice harness system for children. You can carry two children or put one child in the middle. (I will keep it and use it when I do have a child.) I also like the rain shields, they have come in handy! Most of the time, we even roll back the bug screen. My dog doesn't jump out and he likes to stand with his head out while we are walking. There are a lot of nice reflectors too.I haven't used it as a trailer yet, but works great as a stroller. The only thing I wish is that it had some kind of storage pocket, but there is plenty of room on the handle to attach things to it it. I currently have tied a small bag to it to hold the things I need for my dog and also a flash light.

Great Value! Works on Front Suspension only - basic Mountain Bikes
I am really happy with my Sierra Bike Trailer. After I bought it, I compared it with other much more expensive brands and didn't think it was worth to spend the extra $100 ++ dollars. This trailer has all you need, good quality and great price - look no further. It is easy to assemble, attach it to the bike, and to store it. I have a Diamondback mountain bike. I was worried the trailer wouldn't work with my bike, as I read a review about this trailer not working on mountain bikes. My husband has a more advanced, full suspension mountain bike, and it does not work on his, so I think as long as you have a front suspension only mountain bike, the trailer will work fine. The only thing I don't like as much on the trailer is the stroller handle attachment. It is not as easy to put it on and off as I had expected, but it is still not bad. I usually just leave it on, unless I have to take it down to put the trailer in my car.I do use the stroller feature quite a bit, and it is great! On a steep downhill the front of the stroller would come up, so I couldn't run, but other than that, it performs great! I love this bike trailer/stroller!The amount of storage is great! I love how you can close the window in case it gets cold. When the weather is hot thought, I noticed my kids get warm in there if I leave the cover on (not the plastic to cover the window, just the entire cover with the mesh fabric), so when it is warm, I leave it completely off. Great purchase. I recommend it.

Does the job
After a lot of research, I chose this particular double trailer model over the others for three reasons:1) It's foldable2) The seats don't sag3) There's lots of headroomWhat did I actually get?1) Yes, the trailer is foldable, but I was expecting it to be foldable, more like how a stroller is collapsible. Instead, you have to remove the wheels and the part of the frame in order to collapse it. Yes, the product description said the wheels were removable, but I guess I didn’t really realize quite what that meant. In any regard, it is nice that it’s foldable so it doesn’t take up a ton of room, but honestly, I it’s still such an effort to fold it up that it sits in my garage fully put together when not in use.2) A lot of the reviews for other trailers indicated that some of the seats had a tendency to sag because there wasn’t enough support so you’d have to be careful going over bumps and such. So far, no problems with this, even when I have both my kids in it.3) We had a Burley single trailer and my 36 inch tall kid barely fit in it with his helmet on. In this trailer, he’s got plenty of head room with his helmet on. It fits both my 36 inch/30 lb and 32 inch/24 pound boys comfortably. There are several storage areas inside the trailer so good for putting some snacks or wipes. There are three harnesses, one on the left and right when you tow two kids, and one in the middle when you just have one kid. I haven’t used this as a stroller so I can’t comment on that. I would recommend buying an additional coupler attachment because it’s kind of a pain in the butt to change this one if you switch between bikes regularly. My husband says that this coupler is much harder to switch than the Burley one.

I would HIGHLY recommend tot he manufacture to use aluminum rims and to ...
The trailer as a whole is okay, my problem is with the rear tires, they are cheap PLASTIC rimes, the tires are either too big for this rim or the rime edge is too short when you inflate the tire (yes it is a tube tire) the tire keeps popping out of the rim. I had one tire inflated and was holding in place, so I thought, the all of a sudden it popped out of the rime and the tube blew out.I would HIGHLY recommend tot he manufacture to use aluminum rims and to re-check the sizing of the tires they use. They may even wish to consider a solid rubber or tubeless tire.

Easy fix for tires going flat
This has been a great bicycle trailer. It's easy to hook up, stores well, and the kids love it. I was a little perplexed about how my tires would mysteriously go flat after sitting in the garage for a couple days, and noticed others have had the same issue based on their reviews. I took out the tubes and felt all along the inner edge of the wheel to try and find the culprit. Looks like the seam where the two sides of the plastic wheel was joined together has parts that may be a little rough/sharp, which causes the tube to rip when it rubs against it. The fix? I took out the tubes, and at the two parts on each wheel where there's a ridge where the pieces were joined together, I covered the seam with a piece of black electrical tape. Put the tubes back in and reinflated, no problems since. That's it! Give it a shot, and hopefully works for you, too!
