AEG VX8-4-CR-A, Bagged Cylinder Vacuum, Chilli Red, 58 Decibeles [Energy Class A]

I got this vacuum specifically because I suffer from some sort of burnout during the day and I get into the mood to vacuum after the sun has set and the neighbours went to bed.The motor noise level is so low it's amazing. The suction is noisier, but I don't think anything could have been done about that. With a bit of technique you can keep that to a minimum too.So far I've vacuumed in the middle of the night several times and I didn't get any complaints from the neighbours, and my floors are clean too.Pretty happy with my purchase.

The suction was either too strong or not strong enough. If I adjusted it so I could push it along the carpet it was too weak to pick anything up. I bought it because it had a Best Buy on Which but its the worst vacuum I have ever used. I did pass on my comments to Which but they said I was wrong 😑.

Used it on laminate, tiles, carpet and radiators.Good overall.

This cylinder vacuum cleaner has two or three innovative features. First of all it is very quiet in operation - in fact the quietist vacuum I've ever come across. Second, the bag is perfumed to reduce smells. Finally the two nozzles it comes with are particularly aimed at dealing with homes with animals.In use, as well as being quiet, the vacuum is very manoeuvrable. It also has a long cable - which means you can move from room to room without unplugging it. The smaller nozzle is very effective at removing cat fur from sofas and cushions, but the larger nozzle seems to be a bit less effective on carpet. My rather old Dyson copes better.Although the bags help prevent smells, going back to a bagged vacuum seems a bit retrograde and the vacuum definitely takes more effort to empty than a no-touch bagless vacuum. The bag is also pretty small with a capacity of 3.5 litres. This helps keep the vacuum light, and manoeuvrable but means you have to empty it more frequently.Overall if you are really concerned about vacuum noise, this vacuum might be worth a look. I can cope with a bit of noise but would rather avoid the bags. And I'm not very keen on corded vacuums, even if they have a long power cable. For me, reflecting the current price, this is a three-star product.

Really dislike the suction settings, either too much or too little. The carpet head causes fluff balls to mount up caused by the Velcro piece on the tip of head. Really unhappy with this vacuum. If I still had box I would return

WOW what a fantastic vacuum! I have purchased Miele hoovers for years after my mother raved on about how good they were, and I have to agree they were fantastic...until this purchase! I only purchased this one as WHICH? magazine rated it the highest at "83% Best Buy". Miele was only a few percent behind so was going to stick with Miele but in Which's review checks it didn't come up as high so went for the AEG instead...and I was not disappointed!!!. It has to be the quietest vacuum ever and the suction is just fantastic which you can adjust. It's great on carpets and hard floors and picks up virtually everything! It has a long cable so you don't have to change sockets often. Everything about this vacuum is great and you will not be disappointed with your purchase if you go for the same model.

It was great right up until the moment the tube snapped clean off just after the handle component. After I had used it - rather gently, I might add, because I really take care with things I buy - maybe only 25 times.
