Love this!!! - would be beyond perfect if they could attach the pen somehow.
I bought these almost a year ago for my twin girls when they were just about 1 year old and they STILL use them. They even colored on them with Crayons to my dismay, but the water still works over the crayon marks and they don't seem to mind :-) I bought this for my nephew as well. They are very lightweight and although they are a bit too big to fit in your purse, they do not take up much real estate otherwise. I wound up typing a shoelace/ribbon around the pen and attached it to the handle so that it would not get lost. Also helps for when the kids would drop the pen on those long car rides - I didn't have to go digging to find it for them and they could pull it back up themselves. Would definitely buy again/more. Highly recommend!

Travel Doodle Makes the Traveller's Happier!
I bought the Travel Aquadoodle for a 3 year old's holiday present and he fell in love immediately (SO DID HIS MOM!) It's clean, it's super durable, and did I mention it's CLEAN? The water pen lasts for a very long time, the pad itself colors blue on one side and red on the other, and it's so compact it's a great take-along-toy anywhere. Creative. Simple. Fun. No-cleanup!

it's....ok
We got these for our 3 kids at about half the current price (we paid under $10 each). We wanted something for each of them because they always fight over their magnadoodle. They definitely don't like these as much as the magnadoodles. It's convenient and clean--you just add water to the "marker" and draw, then after a few minutes the drawings fade. One side of the mat draws in red and one in blue. These will be handy for car trips and are less expensive than magnadoodles (and I don't care for the travel sized magnadoodles--too small). But they're not getting used much around the house.

Good travel option, but wears down quickly
We bought this as a travel toy for my daughter to keep her occupied while we were attending a wedding. I love that it's small, lightweight, and reusable. She had a lot of fun drawing and redrawing. Perfect toy for that kind of activity. The pen fills with water, which is great. The downside is, after one full day of use (and we're talking a LONG day), the white part is already showing quite a bit of wear. You can start to see the blue or red through the white, even while its dry. The pen tip, which appears to be a hardened felt of some sort, is also wearing down. The toy isn't that expensive - I paid $18 - BUT I would have thought I'd get a few months of wear out of it - not a few days.

Best Gift
This is the best gift for a young toddler. Mess free and so easy to travel with and play with anywhere. We used to use this in the car rides with our toddler and when visiting friends because it's mess free and my daughter loved to draw over and over again. The magic of water never gets old. The pen holds up pretty well considering how much use it gets too. Purchased this for my nephew and he loves it too.

Piece of crap!
Should have listened to the other reviews who said the same but I didn't. It feels like something you would get at the dollar store, its made of that ultra cheap fake "fabric" the cheapest reusable bags are made of, like the Walmart ones you can buy at the register. Its completely flimsy and not stiff enough to write on in your lap, the pen leaks and needs to be filled for each use. I returned it and Amazon said not to bother sending it back so I still have it and its been used maybe twice and even for free its not enjoyed!

Good in Theory
I purchased this toy for my at the time 19 month old for a 2 hour flight we were taking. I figured it was not messy, i would not have to worry about her coloring with crayons/pens all over me or the plane and it packed up really well.It took a while to get the water pen to work then when it did, it kind of leaked. When we finally got use to the pen it was not all that good. It looked like the lines we created were super fuzzy and we realized it was bleeding into the other designs.Temporarily it held her interest then it was gone. I have since taken it out for her to play with and it lasts about 5 minutes which is not normal for her and other toys.I am going to keep it around and try when she is around 3 to see if its any better. For that age range i would not suggest it. For ease of travel it was great.
