seems like almost every other day I have to clean it ...
I have to update this review for those who may have to return their units. I had to return the entire coffeemaker this morning so this is something you will WANT to know. First, you have to pay an upfront fee of $10 to have a new coffeemaker sent to you along with a referral number...ok, that part was fine. When I brought it to the UPS, I discovered that it would cost me an additional $34.95 to return for a total investment of $44.95...ARE YOU SERIOUS?? If this unit fails, I will not be returning it again. It was shooting coffee grounds out onto the counter and our carafe had a lot of coffee grinds in the bottom...Unacceptable so I had to return

Grinder - Nice idea; Clogs and is difficult to clean in practice
Needs improvement. Grinder part worked nicely for about the first 10 pots of coffee. Then grinder chute started to clog and cleaning it is a major pain. Even after cleaning thoroughly, grinder chute continued to clog making inconsistent brews. Have reverted to using pre-ground coffee and not using grinder part of this unit. Would not buy again until major improvements made in the technology.

Probably better to buy the burr grinder separately
We've tried twice. Both times the grinder quits. It's electric so if the problem is motor you can't fix it. Probably better to buy the burr grinder separately. By the way, I have bought several burr grinders and they work perfectly. This combo is a mess!!

Would not buy again, very dissappointed with Cuisinart product and customer service
You have to brush out the coffee chute on this thing at least twice a week, and this is a real hassle. I had this coffee maker for 5 months and it just quit brewing coffee. Everything looked like it was going to brew, but the hot plate didn't heat up and the water didn't com through. When I called customer service, the bored sounding guy on the other end told me to put a vinegar and water solution in it for at least 3 hours, then run it through. I told him it wouldn't heat up, but he insisted I try that. I tried it, and of course it didn't work. So now I had to call customer service again. This time they told me they could replace it, but since it was a limited warranty I would have to pay to ship both the new one to me and old one back to them. When I balked, they waved shipping of the new one, but I ended up paying $39.00 to send the old one back. So a $170.00 coffee maker didn't even last 6 months and I had to pay almost $40.00 to send their piece of crap back to them. Now I'm in it for about $210.00 and still have to clean the chute at least twice a week. I'm almost hoping it will break down before the "limited" warranty is up. Maybe I can get my money back and buy a quality coffee maker.

Fire hazard!!
I have had 2 of these and both of them almost started a fire. The warmer plate started to smoke on the 1st coffee maker which was replaced under warranty. The 2nd one started smoldering and when I turned if off the counter top was VERY hot. The 2nd coffee maker last 3 years and 2 months which is 2 months out of warranty. I consider it a hazard and should be taken off the market before it catches someones house on fire. I love the grinder and perhaps using one that doesn't have a warmer would be recommended.

Best coffeemaker for the money!
Love this coffee maker. Love that it's easier to clean (improved over the last one we bought) and it makes good coffee...real good coffee!
