Anyone knows the real weight of the product? Shipping weight more than doubles the weight indicated in the dimensions descriptions.

The site indicates the "real weight" at 12 lbs. I believe. It's probably thereabouts. You'd of course have to consider the shipping materials and packaging that it comes in, that's why the shipping weight is more....it's packaged very well.

They will but I would recommend using the top shelf. A 1.5 liter will fit anywhere but it does alter the position slightly of a standard 750 ml bottle above it.

If I put a board across the top could I stack 2 units?

I don't think so the top is a little slanted and just a board might not be stable or strong enough to hold another rack full of wine personally I would not want to chance it our wine is too expensive and would be way too of a mess if it was to fall down just look for a taller rack
