Without a Trace [DVD]

A sleeper at the box office, I had never heard of Without a Trace until I saw it in HBO. Back in the day of the VCR, I had taped it and despite of the poor quality of the tape, I had watched it again and again. It’s such a good movie! I cried every time I watched it back then and I cried again while watching it last night with my husband. Seeing it for the first time, although he would never admit it, I caught him shedding a tear or two. Of course my VCR is long gone, so I’m thrilled that I found it on DVD. Outstanding acting by Kate Nelligan and Judd Hirsch. And if you’ve got a good eye you’ll catch that Alex Selky is the same little boy that played Sheriff Brody’s younger son in the movie Jaws.

My husband and I caught this on cable the other night unfortuantely he had to leave for work so he wants to know how it ends.When I first saw this movie I was about 12. I'm not sure why it effected me so. When I saw it a few nights ago I caught that the parents had been separated for only 3 months. I was thinking it had been a long time ago. The movie just drips with loneliness. The mother waking up in the bed by herself. Even though the son & mother have breakfast together you can't help but feel the loneliness.Even though I cry everytime I see this movie I love it. I am also struck by the music. My husband laughed when the mother was practicing the piano. He said "no one plays like that." The mother was shown learning a new song note by note and as time went on she perfected it and played it beautifully.This is a must see. I find myself searching for all of the movies I loved as a child and to my surprise other people are too. It's great when you can purchase a movie that you loved long ago.

I have been looking everywhere for the movie. Thanks Amazon for having it and at a decent price too. I have loved this movie since it first came out. The ending has always left me bawling my eyes out. Kate Nelligan should have won an Emmy for her portrayal.

I had been looking for this movie for quite a while. I was thrilled when I found it on Starz. When I saw it back when it first came out, it touched me deeply, especially since my own kids were 7 and 5 at the time. Kate Nelligan and Judd Hirsh gave outstanding performances. I will watch this movie again and again and enjoy it every time.

This is a great film. I paid more for it than any other dvd, and it’s worth every penny. Try to find this one. It will restore your faith in humanity.

The dvd was purchased to replace an old vhs that would not longer play... The order was received quickly and in great condition and have already enjoy viewing it again...

Spending $60 on a movie is hard to do. Movie freezes every 10 seconds! This is one of those movies that you don't see on TV. You can't find it on any app! When someone spends $60 on a movie that is this hard to find, you expect that movie to be in 100% perfect condition! I am so heartbroken and disappointed!

Great film of a great book.

WITHOUT A TRACE,THIS FILM WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT TO WATCH(even though wrong region but im lucky enough to have dvd-video recorder that accepts regions 0-6) 1st watched this on tv,then again-again because its that good a film-so sad in parts the sad parts were best as kidnapped child was found by police officer who refused to give up hope of finding child-mother knew her son was alive-she had that gut feeling her boy was alive.the best part was when cop cars from different areas of us joined each other along motorway to bring child home-made me weep as so intense re happiness that two people(mum-cop)refused to give up WOW WHAT A BRILLIANT FILM,get the tissues out as it will make anyone hard cry31st aug 09 23.46pm

A classic film that encapsulates the essence of the era. Well worth the viewing.

I was already familiar with this movie, and I love it. Although it is used, it is in excellent condition
