Unbelievable
The first time I used my Pasta Boat, I tried to cook gluten-free pasta and was left with a sticky, starchy, gluey mess. For the second attempt, I used a pound of traditional spaghetti and could not believe the results. Perfect al dente texture! I cooked it on high for 9 minutes, stirred the pasta, and cooked on high for another 9 minutes. Still trying to get the water/salt ratio right, but I'll take that over having to boil a big pot of water any day. Two things: It helps to break the pasta in half before cooking, and a bit of olive oil prevents sticking and boilovers. I'm still amazed by the quality of the results for such little effort.

so detach easily when tipping container to drain
Pasta Maker becomes very hot,and container gets soft. Can be picked up by handles but they are not permanently attached, so detach easily when tipping container to drain, making draining awkward. water in Maker overflows when bowling, causing a pool of water on microwave tray. Paper towel underneath maker helps, but gets soaked. Experimenting with timing might help by pausing microwave at the moment before or after boiling, removing Maker and stirring contacts; return to cooking for the rest of desired time.

DIsappointing
We have the blue & yellow version for many years and wanted to augment it for more cooking capacity. The original yellow & blue pasta cooker is much heavier built and its handles do not fall off; as like when with this version - full of pasta and HOT water - when pouring the handles slide off ( yes they are only held by gravity - they slide into holder from bottom.) Now I know why the other blue & gold one from Amazon costs so much more than these. Would not buy again and would not recommend..

Works Well.
This works pretty well, but the pasta has a weird consistency that I'm not crazy about. This is great if you're in a hurry, but I like the results of the old fashioned method better. The instructions are e mailed to you and all you have to do is download them, which the seller clearly states. I got it very quickly and in perfect condition, so that's a plus!Update: I found that bringing the water to a boil first, then adding the pasta gives a much better result. It does add to the cooking time, but the consistency of the pasta is better. Still a very handy pasta maker!

Crap!!!
After 15min in microwave the plastic gets soft and the handles slip off when you try to strain the water, also makes a mess in the microwave as the water boils and comes out of the vent holes. returned after 1 use.

which heats my kitchen up like you wouldn't believe
Oh my goodness I had no idea this was such a time saver! Not having to boil a big pot of water, which heats my kitchen up like you wouldn't believe. Then the straining it.... Please... I put the water in; I put the pasta in, put it in the microwave and 18 minutes later I have perfect pasta. Straining is not a problem clap the lid closed and pour off the water and it's pasta eating time!

Excellent microwave accessory.
Works exactly as advertised. I am very pleased with the results so far.I have cooked several types of pastat INCLUDING HOMEMADE RAVIOLI which stays intact perfectly and doesn't come apart as often happens when cooked on the stovetop.Whole wheat penne requires longer cooking time - and it depends on the power of the microwave. In my 1000 watt MW I cooked it for 13 minutes but in the 900 watt it required three more minutes to reach the desired texture.
