Update: I have been using this guy for over a year. It is my favorite beauty tool! I have not touched a razor and I love that. I did use it in the shower a few times but I find that it broke more hairs than it pulled out. Meaning in less than a week I was feeling them growing back. I use dry and I'm good for a minimum of three weeks or more. I still highly recommend if you are trying one for the first time to use after a few wax sessions. Catch the regrowth from a wax session and it isn't so bad. Also want to note, do not let your hair get to long, the longer the hair the more you feel it. This model catches stubble pretty well, you will learn what is best for you.I am so in love with the Brain EpilSilk 9. I have four epilators but this one is by far my absolute favorite. It really grabs the shortest little hairs as they grow back. I use it about once a week and that keeps me smooth. The hair grows back super fine. I haven’t had any issues with ingrown hairs as others have. I always use it after a hot shower and exfoliating. No need to be heavy handed, just lightly go over your skin. I also do my underarms, does a really great job there as well. I didn’t like using it in the shower as it felt like i it wasn’t getting as much hair. This epilator pulls the fine and thick hair out. The video is while epilating my knee. it’s hard to video while epilating. The picture is my knee immediately after epilating. It is painful the first time you use an epilator, I highly recommend waxing first and then using the epilator as the hair grows back in. That way you are starting with fewer hairs and it’s easier to ease into it. The shorter the hair the less it hurts. After using a time or two it really isn’t bad at all. I rub my legs with almond oil after and my legs feel amazing. I love the feeling of smooth legs on fresh sheets and using this I get that feeling pretty much every night. My only complaint is I didn’t start epilating earlier in life.Update: been using this epilator for over seven months. So convenient and easy to use, every two weeks or so after a shower I grab it off the charging base (which makes this epilator super convenient) make a slow steady pass over my legs and my underarms. I haven't touched razors, waxes or creams in over a year and I can promise that I never will again. As I stated before it you have never epilated I highly suggest getting a wax and then using this every two weeks or so for regrowth. If you go full on with it your first time ITS GOING TO HURT LIKE H#%&. If you stay with it you will not regret it as it gets less and less painful the more you use it. I barely feel it anymore.

I not NOT a paid reviewer and this review is totally unsolicited.I LOVE my new Braun Silk-épil 9 9-579!!!! :-) Goodbye razors, and waxes at the salon! (tried waxing but my skin was, too, sensitive)I watched a couple of online videos describing how this product works and most are spot on ..... yes, it is a little uncomfortable but if you can tolerate waxing, your golden. Even in areas they don't normally wax, most salons don't hit the very top 2 inches or so of your thigh, this product was totally tolerable. I did have to go slower and use speed 1 on most of my upper thighs and on the most upper part, I had to use the shaver, rather than the epilator. Nonetheless, this product gave me GREAT results from the very first use.The other thing I want to address is the red bumps. I was concerned about this because I am a redhead and have very sensitive skin, yep, you read that right, I have VERY sensitive skin and I am still able to very easily use this product. Anyway, back to the bumps .... I did both of my lower legs on the first try, the only tricky areas were my knees and the back of my knees and yes, there were little red bumps ..... however, they were pretty much gone the next morning. This same morning, I decided to go ahead and do my upper legs, figured the area would be hidden under my capri pants so it wouldn't matter. Afterwards, I showered, exfoliated my skin, patted dry and applied my regular lotion (I always use Cetaphil because it is hypoallergenic & non-greasy) and much to my surprise, there were NO RED bumps except on the very sensitive area on the upper part of my thigh! I was very very pleased.Also, regarding the shaver head that I used on the very upper/inside area of my both thighs, it gave me a very close shave and although it was a little red, and did not disappear when I exfoliated my skin, patted it dry and applied my regular lotion, it was not uncomfortable either. My guess is, by tomorrow morning, it'll be just fine.If I had one wish for this product it would to to have a different attachment for the face. Why can't Braun make a completely separate attachment (like they have for the shaver) but matches the separate product they already sell for the face??? The only reason I didn't buy the other product is, I've already spend over $100 on this one, and the video reviews say that, for the price, it isn't power enough and uses batteries! Why in the world would I want that?!?!? However, if they had added a separate head attachment to this product I would have been willing to pay more for it because I wouldn't have to worry about batteries!!Finally, after watching the videos, I chose to do this on dry skin because I felt I would get better results. Therefore, I am not able to comment on what the results would be if I had done it in the shower.Good luck to you if you decide to try this product ...... and if you do, I hope you are as happy as I am!!
