Camecho Double Din Car Stereo 7'' 1080P HD Touch Screen D-Play Universal Car Multimedia Player Support Android and iOS Mirror Link with Bluetooth/FM/USB/AUX/RCA/Rear View Camera Input

I've been accustomed to using CarPlay on the rental cars around my area, and wanted to install CarPlay into my vehicle, a 2004 Lexus ES330 from my parents. Being a recent grad I could not justify spending $200+ on a radio unit, so I went with this unit. I knew it wasn't going to be as nice as the OEM units or the ones from the big brands, but I was willing to make that trade-off.Installation:I won't speak too much to installation, as it is different for each car. I have no experience on cars, but I work on electronics for a living, so the soldering of the wiring harness was pretty straightforward. However, this unit is a smidge bigger than double DIN, which required me to Dremel 1/8" on each side of the opening of the replacement faceplate I bought. It definitely doesn't look the cleanest, but it fits with a very minimal gap. Expect to spend several hours test fitting, Dremeling, and test fitting again until you get the right fit.Display:The display is very cheap. The colors are very poorly calibrated, and even with the available settings (contrast, saturation, hue) in the unit, it still pales in comparison to even an average LCD. The touch screen is not very sensitive, and there is a pressure point that shows up when tapping the screen. I popped off the screen just to take a peek at the area in question, and didn't see anything that would've been applying pressure on the panel; there must be an issue with the LCD assembly.Performance:The performance is very poor. The unit takes approximately 10 seconds to boot up, and if you use CarPlay, it won't trigger unless the iPhone is plugged in after the device is booted up. I don't think this was a limitation I encountered with other units.CarPlay itself is also very laggy, which is very odd considering all the processing is done on the iPhone; the head unit receives a video stream from the phone. Allegedly, the video is encoded in H.264, which is pretty much what every video is encoded in, from videos shot with your phone, to videos on YouTube and other streaming services. Being able to process this video format should not lag unless extremely old and underpowered hardware is being used, which I believe is the case here.The unit tends to be very unstable as well, sometimes randomly rebooting 5 minutes after turning the car on. Any audio that is playing will studder and loop for the duration of the reboot, which is very jarring. Oddly though, CarPlay will work even if the phone is plugged in while it's rebooting.Conclusion:Overall, I would advise saving your money and getting a unit from one of the big brands. This unit won't give you a good experience, and if you're just getting into CarPlay, it may not give you an accurate representation of a proper CarPlay experience. The only positive from this unit and ones like it is that the big players like Sony and Pioneer are dropping the prices of their units; you can get a good quality CarPlay unit from a good brand for $250-$300 as opposed to $400+ from a couple years ago.

I was very skeptical but after some research decided to go for it. I installed this in my daughters 2013 Dodge Avenger. Pretty straight forward wiring up. Make sure to purchase the correct wire harness adapter for your specific vehicle. Also be sure to measure your opening in vehicle to ensure fitment. You can find kits online to accommodate any vehicle. Anyway after a couple hours. It was installed. I plugged my lightening cable into the radios usb and to my surprise.........What!! CarPlay. Yup it works! I didn’t set up any options or anything. Simple plug and play for iPhone XR. I didn’t try anything wireless yet. I can say that without connecting a phone to this radio, it does not have many options I seen. Touch screen is really good. Sound is ok. I will update in a week or 2 with a teens review.

I was super excited to get this product! Every time I use a rental car and it has Apple Car Play, I LOVE IT. I'm about to do a long drive so I wanted to make it easier on myself so I purchased this and paid to have installed by a local company. Again, SUPER EXCITED, could not shut up about it. But when I got in my car and activated the Car Play, I noticed that the screen is actually kind of hard to see because the colors are not bright like it is on nicer radios. Overall, I would not purchase this again. It works, the touch screen is okay too but I do regret having it installed because the pictures on the listing look vibrant and that is what I was expecting. Had I known it was going to be dull, I would have saved my money on the piece and the $230 I spent on the installation.

At this price, I was fully prepared for this thing to go up in smoke the second I turned it on, but instead everything worked! Sounds much better than my stock radio. Volume is a little crazy loud on low setting, but good quality sound. Carplay works great, convenient front USB input. The UI is basic with some quirks like interesting spelling and limited options for car makes on the boot screen - no Chevy, Chrysler, or Mazda, but there is a Skoda?Camecho customer support gets 5 stars. My first radio had some problems, but Cher at Camecho customer service was super responsive - give this person a raise!If you want to update your radio but not spend a bunch - and if you are one of the 3 people in the US who drive a Skoda - this is a good choice.

The touch screen on my unit did not work out of the box however since I’m a mechanic I said to heck with it and took it apart I unplugged the ribbon connector for the lcd panel then firmly re secured it then I turned the unit off then back on and then pressed the reset button (located under the mic) and after that the touchscreen worked just fine. Do not try this if your not the handy type the connectors and ribbon wire are very fragile and you don’t want to be messing around in there if you don’t know what your doing but it is easily fixed by following those steps. overall the product is more then I can ask for, for the price it’s 100$ cheaper then the next cheapest unit that supports Apple CarPlay the screen is clear and vibrant and responsive (now that it works that is) and the audio quality is good also if u already have a aftermarket head unit you don’t need to by any adapters if you know how to wire it up (just connect each wire to the corresponding color). I would recommend this product as long as the price stays under 80$

Great product if you’re looking to just upgrade an older vehicle to CarPlay like I did. My only gripes are: 1) if you aren’t looking squarely at the display, it’s a little bit gritty. 2) The remote that comes with it is kinda useless. 3) The lack of physical volume controls makes it a pain to adjust volume.Overall, despite the gripes, you can’t beat the price of it. It does what it’s supposed to do and seems to work fine.

The look of the product installed is great, happy with it, sound is good, interface is good. Install was somewhat tricky. It's not 100% square so I had to Macgyver it to make it fit, holes not in a standard position so I had to add holes to my bracket and the back felt a little cheap however installed on my side by side, it's a great buy for the price. Backup camera I purchased after works perfectly with rocker switch. The instructions aren't great. I had to do a little research to find out what each wire color was, I.e pink was for the back up camera, green rear left speaker, grey front right, purple rear right and white front left. RCA for subwoofer works well

Product is very cheaply made screen scratches from just swiping it with your finger lots of spelling mistakes in the settings over all just bad quality wouldn’t recommend it to anyone I know
