Holds crack easily, sub-par quality
Update: 2 other holds have now begun to crack, and I'm really disappointed with Metolius. They were not over tightened and I haven't had any issues with my atomik and Rocky Mountain holds. Moving down to 1 star...A lot of really good holds and is great for a starter wall. However, one of the larger holds cracked after approximately 2 weeks of intermittent use. It cracked in such a way that it is no longer usable. Really wish the holds were higher quality.

Holds are weak and crack
I'm no Metolius hater, I love my Metolius finger tape and other products. But I had a really bad experience with these holds.Holds have cracked from day 3 all the way until now, 10 months later. Total about 12 holds cracked and unusable. Some of the larger bolt hole ones have cracked as have many of the smaller foot holds.I don't believe I have treated them wrongly; I have Atomik, Escape, Element, So Ill and over 100 other holds on my indoor home wall, and I've never had another hold crack or break in almost 3 years of use.The other things that put me off were the number of each hold and why they're different fasteners. Some use flat bolts, some use outdated counter sunk bolts, some use wood screws - it makes setting routes a pain. Also the number of tiny foot holds is what is making up the number of holds - and they are tiny, not suitable for kids or anything over 45 degrees. The last problem I had was that some of the holds had a soapy, tacky substance on them that eventually came off after hot water and scrubbing. From what I understand from climbing hold manufacture, this is probably left over mould release agent. Never had this with any other brand. The guide that comes with the box is pretty good, and the packaging was good. But I'm afraid everything else was pretty upsetting.

False Advertising
This set was not at all as described. I chose it because of the number of screw on hand and foot holds that came in this set in comparison to others which were all bolt on holds. We didn't want to deal with the special hardware. What we received was nothing like what is represented in the picture. All of the "foot holds" were actually just chips, and the hand holds were more like the size of foot holds. The jugs were the size of hand holds. Everything was small and difficult to build even a small a decent wall out of. Most of the pieces were unusable. To truly make this a foundation set we're going to have to spend another $100 on decent sized hand holds.

Weekend Project
I purchased this set plus two additional sets with larger size holds(jugs). These holds are exactly what I was looking for. I made a small climbing wall for my sons in their playroom. They love it and so do I. I prefer these holds over the plastic ones because they feel more natural in your hand.

Better then expected for the price
This was a great buy.Just set up a wall and ceiling with slants. 12x8 feet. This had a great variety.I have some off brand holds, which are good for the vertical, but none of them are good for the ceiling or the slants. The Metolius had some large holds that will work for the overhang/ceiling, which is good. Excellent variety. It say this pack nicely would cover about 8x6 feet, so more then one pack would be needed.Remember that the large holds are bold on and the small holds are screw in.

The holds look and feel great. They come in a variety of bright colors which is kind of fun. Make sure you understand when you purchase this set that the majority of the holds are small/jibs, they're great foot holds but not for much else. There are some medium to large holds, but you'll want to get more to add to it to complete your wall. This pack is a really great starter set.

There are a few good hand holds
60 holds is a bit of a misnomer. There are a few good hand holds, a few nice toe holds, and lots of very very tiny chips that only advanced climbers with really good shoes might use.

Good assortment and high quality.
Good assortment for the price. I wish they had a few less tiny toe holds and a few more hand holds....still, was able to cover an 8x8 area in the basement. I ended up not using a half dozen of the smallest sizes. The items themselves are constructed of a very hard, dense material with a good grip texture. The largest ones are bolt on, so must be installed before the plywood is fixed to the wall.
