Airtex E8445 Universal In-Line Electric Fuel Pump for Fuel Injected Systems

Used this to replace a fuel pump on a 1990 toyota 4x4 pickup with the 22re. I can't attest to longevity of the pump, but I was able to get the truck running so I could sell it. It seemed like a good pump, came with mounting brackets and hardware. It did what I needed it to do and the price was right.

I bought this pump because I know a lot of shops buy this pump as replacement pumps and I always thought they were reliable. I did not get around to immediately installing this pump as it is on a Jeep Wrangler that I don't use as a daily driver. I put it in a couple of weeks ago and it left me stranded and had to call a tow truck. The return date expired a week or so ago.. I put a backup pump on and it worked fine. I went on Amazon to look up the seller and there did not appear any way to contact them, it said sold by Amazon. I paid over $80 bucks for this pump and now it looks like I out that money on top of a tow bill. I will be very careful who I buy from again.

Been in use for a few weeks now. Runs much more quiet than the old in tank fuel pump that was in the car... but it is still somewhat brand new. Will try to remember to update the review if i notice any problems. It's running gravity fed from the fuel tank and then supplying the fuel for a small 4 cylinder GM MPFI setup with pressure regulated return line.

Works as intended... 73 VW Karmann Ghia with a 2.2ltr Subaru motor. Was a bit loud, used additional cushioning material to isolate pump from frame. Much better now.

Worked great...at first. Delivered 45+ psi to my tuned port motor. Lasted about 2 months and 500 miles. Now it runs for a bit then stops running. Let it sit from 5 minutes to 5+ hours will run again. Disappointed - my previous Airtex last 16 years. Trying to decide if I will try another or get an in-tank pump.

Bought a pump that looks exactly like this at a big box race parts store. It was super noisy, way louder than a custom exhaust... LOUD!!! Replaced it under "warranty" and the next one was just as loud. Strange. Bought this based on a forum recommendation and was hesitant as it looked like a rebranded pump like I already had. Pleasantly, I can only hear it preprime when I turn the key to the first position. Once running, I cannot hear it at all. Made me go from embarrassed to drive in public to cannot wait to take it out.Has been running flawlessly for over a month now. I keep the other pump as a backup but this one is PERFECT! Plus it was actually cheaper too... WIN WIN

Electrical connection stud twisted off with very little torque applied. I'm not sure what kind of silly putty Airtex uses for their "brass" studs, but this one twisted off before the nut ever got snug. I was using a short 1/4" ratchet, so I know there wasn't much torque applied. My handy look up table says torque should be ~7.9 in-lbs. I know it's not much, so I was very careful. Of course, now I'm beyond the 30 day return window, so I'm going to have to eat this one.

No way to adapt the mounting system from the new pump to the old one.

Straightforward installation, flexible too thanks to provided mouting hardware.Powers my GM 2.8 V6 MPFI.Quiet, reliable operation.Bargain compared to car spares shops locally.

Was concerned about the noise comments, mine was really quiet. I did put a shot of oil in it before I put it in. Really great pump for the price

It worked for 3 minutes then it quit . I think that the motor burned .

half the parts were not there

Worked perfectly in merc e320. Saved hundreds over dealer.
