Master Z: Ip Man Legacy

Great movie but historically skeptical
My understanding is the Ip Man movies are pretty close to the truth of what happened with some embellishment.No-one made the same claim about this movie that I saw but it's so far fetched I cannot believe it's true. That doesn't bother me but associating with the brand I felt needed disclaimed. Also, the kid is annoying. That may be intentional but it lowered the value for me.Still 5* tho.

Max Zhang kicks butt!
Summary: I'm sure you read all the bad reviews. Not like Donnie Yen's Ip Man movies. **spoiler**I loved them all. Donnie helped produce this movie as well. But the story/plot was a bit lacking. Same ole revenge kind of thing. Evil westerners in Hong Kong, corrupting the populace. Gangsters everywhere selling their smack. Same ole story. People die (actually murdered) and the corrupt Police covers it up. And this guy Tin & son are just trying to live. Tin lost the fight against Ip Man but he's not a bad guy. He tried giving up Win Chun but his past seem to catch with him. It's true that Tin does not use Win Chun until the end but hey, you got to give him credit for doing the damage he without using it.Negatives: Tin doesn't use Win Chun until the end. The plot could have used more work. Donnie wasn't in it...maybe for a few seconds in flash backs. Fight scenes weren't long enough. No one speaks English unless you were a westerner except for the some of the Chinese cops who could speak it well enough. (I know it's a Chinese martial arts film but hey. Donnie grew up in Boston and Max Zhang speak English well enough).Positives: Donnie Yen helped get this film going. He also helped produce it. Max Zhang is a great martial artist. Dave Bautista (former WWE wrestler) is in this film. Tony Jaa (another famous martial artist) is in this film. And another famous martial artist; Michelle Yeoh (I love her) is also in this film. Directed by Yuen Win Poo, who directed many martial arts films and choreographed actions movies like the Matrix and Iron Monkey. The action scenes were great!Verdict: Good film! 4 out of 5 stars! Worth a watch!

Not bad
Enjoyed this movie, a lot more than I thought I would. Michelle Yeoh, as always, brings it to all her fight scenes. For the role he had, Batista was pretty good.

no digital code
I loved the movie, the transfer was excellent but problems are as follows. for a movie release on bluray that has the bluray and the dvd version of the film and not include a digital version of it is a turn off. I loved the fact it has 2 formats included but it should had all 3 to make a collector happy, even the Ip Man trilogy had the digital code for the first 3 movies

Discs are great, cover was a little broken
The product came a little late, but still arrived. Both the DVD and Blu-ray were upside down when I opened it, and the case itself was a little broken with some cracks in a corner and the little flap that you open in order to open the rest of the case half-broken as well. But it still carries the discs fine albeit not being able to close fully.
