Tiger ClawStraight Rubber Training Knife

The only problem I have with this practice knife is that it is long yet flexible enough to very possibly break or become warped after extended use. I'll try to update whether or not my assumption is correct in the future.Update: It has not broken or warped whatsoever since my purchase. This ended up being a great training tool. Very satisfied and added a star to reflect that.

I bought this knife for my 9 year old son who has been practicing martial arts for the las 3 and a half years, so he could practice his forms at home for an upcoming test.The knife itself is made of some kind of rubber that is stiff enough to not be deformed during the exercises but it will bend when any kind of force is applied to it which is fantastic since provides the type of safety that i was looking for.The knife feels sturdy and capable of taking abuse, i don't foresee the knife breaking anytime soon.Size wise is not to big that it would be difficult for a child to hold and not to small that it would feel small on an adult hand.The only small complaint that i have is that the knife has some kind of silver paint on the "blade" to make it look more appealing but the paint chips and cracks with use, leaving residue and making the knife look worn. in my opinion it would be better without the paint.All and all I think the knife serves its purpose well and is very safe at the same time, if it ever wears down or brakes i will probably get another one.

There are a bunch of similar items out there, hard to tell them apart online without seeing in person.I went ahead and purchased this one, hoped for the best.Works as it should. I like that it is "flimsy" but sturdy, if that makes sense. Holds its shape- will not puncture anything- not worried if you fell on it etc (for some reason). Some reviews reported paint flaking or fading. Maybe a little but not that big of a deal. I'd buy another - this is really all you need for knife self defense practice.

Use these in our knife class regularly. Firm enough to know you got hit but not so hard that you have to fear breaking a rib or collarbone.The blade breaks off the handel after several months of hard use but again, I don't think of that as a drawback considering the safety issues of hard bladed training knifes. I simply consider these disposable and know going in that I will need to buy more in a few months.

I have been in the martial arts for several years and I now teach. I ordered these rubber knives for my students to practice with. It was a very competitive price and came within a few days of ordering! I saved $20 dollars on this order, compared to other companies and I am very happy! I was not upset with the paint immediately peeling...this is to be expected being paint does not stick to rubber. It accomplishes what it is created to do and that is to show people in a non-harmful way how to protect themselves during an attack! I will continue to order through this company again and again!

Cool Rubber knife. Bought it for Krav Maga Training and it serves its purpose. After about a week or so, the paint will start to chip due to the bending and you will eventually just have a black piece of rubber. I wish the paint would have lasted longer and I wish it were a bit softer too, if someone who is committed attempts to stab you with this IT WILL HURT. At the dollar tree they sell $1 retractable toy knifes that might serve the same purpose as this and you could simulate a fully committed attacker. Otherwise decent. Gets the job done

In my current role as the Training Manager and Property Intelligence (counter terrorism) Officer, I had need of some sturdy and safe training knives. I purchased 5 of these rubber knives and they were everything I could have hoped for. They are all rubber, safe, and sturdy. I purchased these nearly two years ago and we use them for our Advanced Weapons and Tactics Class, our Basic and Intermediate Defensive Tactics Class, and as props for a variety of role playing scenarios we run. All 5 of our original rubber knives are still in very good condition. All in all these are great training aids that will last a long time with just a modicum of care.

We have purchased this from various vendors for and it is nicely weighted for the older kids to play with in the backyard. Would like a more obviously fake version (bright colors or something) for Halloween because at a really quick glance it is too realistic. But totally love the weight and knives. After several years of playing, the first knife we bought did develop a crack by the handle which is what led us to buy more but the value was amazing. Totally worth it.
