Amprobe - 3467465 RS-3 PRO CAT IV 300A Analog Clamp Meter Black

I have used the black amprobe junior for decades but when it finally gave out, meaning my dog ate it, I turned back to amprobe for a replacement. I do not like it near as much as the old one as it is way too bulky and difficult to get on individual wires in cramped spaces. Unfortunately, all you young whippersnappers have turned to that digital junk and so the demand for high quality meters has fallen away, leaving only two models available. For shame! I still gave it 5 stars because it works perfectly and shows amp drops and spikes with incredible accuracy... something most digital meters can never do, but it is yellow. Why yellow?

I am an older electrician (52) I am so glad I came across this analogue meter on Amazon.I just trust it so much better that the digital's. I can see voltage fluctuations instantly. I was fearful that I would be stuck with digital meters forever before I found this.

I love the analog amprobe because it allows you to see fluctuations. The scale on it goes down really low and hits up to 300. Great buy.

stopped working just before a year of purchase.... not happy at all AND there is no way to call, text or email anyone about it.

This thing is huge as compared to the previous Amprobe brand of clamp on AC meters that I have used in the past. This makes it very difficult if not impossible to get it on a wire within a tight place.If I could find another analog meter that was at a more reasonable size. I would buy it and send this monster back.

Way too bulky as one 5 star reviewer noted. At least twice as big as old amprobe it is replacing with similar specifications, making this a HUGE disappointment. No reason and no benefit for added bulk. Won't fit in tool bag to be carried with other tools. 3 stars is too many, and 2, I hate it is my initial reaction to it. May try to find smaller unit that will be more portable. Probably will return. Attaching picture of this RS-3 Pro and my old RS-3

Great meter! We have used the Amprobe brand for over 40 years, with great success.

The zeroing dial does nothing to zero out the unit. The jaws of the clamps are much bigger than the older version of this model. Most of the time with the older model you have a hard time clamping onto a wire in a crowded slew of wires. With this new version, it's impossible.
