I bought this to show a friend how to make friendship bracelets. First of all, I was extremely shocked that I remembered how to make them as it's been, ahem, a few years since I was in Junior High... Second, this is a great package to buy. You can make lots and lots and lots of bracelets with the length you are given for each color. Plus the colors were really nice and not repeated.Oh and I learned a new word. Several of the girls were sorting out the colors that they wanted to use and there was some debate at to whether a color was more purple or more brown. It was settled when one of the girls said that it was "purgandy." So there you have it friends, purgandy is in fact a color.

When I told my mom what a deal I got on these, she made me go and count how many skeins I actually got. There was a full 100! There is one set of duplicates, but otherwise they are all unique colors. Like people said, they must put them in randomly because my set was full of greens and blues but only had four I would label as purple. However, this suited me just fine :) I had no exact color I needed, just bought these as an addition to my craft box.So far I've embroidered an underwater scene for my bathroom, and faces on felt animals for baby showers. Even when I don't have an exact match, it just adds to the charm. I would definitely suggest this bag to anyone who wants some variety in their floss.

I'm new to cross stitching, and this seemed like a good pack of floss to start with. They feel really nice to the touch, the colors are very nice, and I even like the resealable bag they came in. I didn't realize until I read the review that the colors are random, but I got a wide array of nice colors, and no duplicates! I've never actually used DMC but I recently bought a few colors, and they definitely do feel different, like they're more durable. I'll be able to update this review with better information after I've actually used some DMC so I can compare the Tinksky ones better. But for my starting projects, these have worked very well and I am pleased!

The price for these skeins was fantastic! I do agree with previous reviewers that the colors (at least for the few I compared) aren't exact to DMC skeins, but they're close enough that it's not that big of a deal, at least for my uses. (If the color difference means a lot to you, I would just be careful about using the same color from this collection and DMC side by side to avoid seeing the shade differences.)I ordered two of these packs to see how much variety there would be between the two "random" selections. I ended up with 101 unique colors from the 200 skeins I received. I have two of nearly every color I got, with the exception of a few that I only got one of and a couple that I ended up with 3 skeins of. For the most part, these colors don't seem terribly bright and vibrant like a lot of the DMC skeins are. I got a few (444, 740, for example) that were nicely bright deep colors, but most of the others seem somewhat muted. I don't find that a problem, but just wanted to point it out. I didn't get a true black, but I did get a couple skeins of white, so I'm happy.Overall I think this is a GREAT buy to bulk up your floss collection with a good variety of colors from the spectrum.

I was just getting started in Cross-stitch when I ordered this pack. I was overwhelmed, standing in the local craft store, staring at the wall of different embroidery flosses. Which ones do I get to build a starting collection? This pack saved me so much time and headache. Yes, some of the colors are very similar. Yes, some colors that I wish were in there are missing. However, this is a random selection of yarns, and I expected more of the unpopular colors. This is a great pack for someone just getting started, because there is a wide variety included. The floss is also great quality, I haven't had any issues with the threads breaking or falling apart. This is a great pack for a beginner, or someone looking to expand their collection. I do recommend cardboard bobbins and a case, to keep them all organized.

plus side - this lot comes with many beautiful colors and has the potential to be a great kit for starting out or someone new to embroidery.negative side - thread is very knotted within each skein and many had to be cut in half or in multiple pieces to wrap on a bobbin or use. Many skeins were also very dried out and broke easily.Overall, my feeling is eh. I should've just went to the store and put together my own starter kit for my daughter instead of ordering one.

So I've purchased multiple brands of embroidery thread before. This stuff was awful. The thread comes apart from itself anytime I try to do anything. It's the absolute worst thread I've ever worked with. Any other thread I've used stays twisted together you'd have to work at it to get it to come apart.I would think that someone would want a thread that doesn't separate from itself when you're trying to embroider. How is that a good product at all? I will say it came with a lot of colors, but I was better off just going to a local craft store.Edit: The owner has issued me a full refund.
