NorthStar Single-Stage Portable Electric Air Compressor - 2 HP, 20-Gallon Horizontal, 5.0 CFM

I’ve looked for a while for a air compressor & settled on this one. Absolutely love it!!Very quiet, reasonable storage size, & has a very high quality look & feel. Hook up was very smooth.I changed out the air compressor oil after a hour & had a lot of debris from being new; I highly suggest replacing the oil after a hours use with fresh oil to flush out all of the break in material!!I LOVE THIS AIR COMPRESSOR!!!

One of the most robust air compressors I have ever bought/dealt with! The 20Gal tank fills up fast and it holds its air very well with no air leakage like previous air compressors I've used. The soft start is super handy for standard outlets where fuses are prone to blow. The only downside is the valve to release any built up water inside the take is on the very bottom and hard to access since the tank is so heavy but this is common with any air compressor. Highly recommend this product.

Compressor showed up in the expected time frame. There was some shipping damage to the belt guard and piping. Contacted seller directly and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of service received. Parts were ordered immediately and a confirmation was sent informing me on when to expect delivery of replacement parts. Very happy with seller at this point.Compressor is a little slow at filling as mentioned in other reviews but I don’t see that as a problem. Tank holds pressure well and no leaks have been found. Compressor is significantly quieter than previous compressors I’ve owned. Compressor is well built and I believe it will stand up well. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase.Update, after waiting 6+ weeks for the repair parts that were ordered,I got an email stating the parts were no longer available and the order was canceled. I really like the compressor but if the parts to fix it are not available I would not buy it!! I’m now changing my 5 star rating to 1. Buyer Beware!

While we had problems with this item, the company was straight forward and honest. They sent us parts when we had an issue with one of the cylinders. Although replacing the parts did not fix the problem, Northern Tool & Equipment had it returned to them at their cost. I certainly would not purchase this brand of air compressor again but I WOULD do business with Northern Tool & Equipment again.

The quality of the compressor is very well built . The belt gaurd is actually metal not plastic like cambell hausfeld . The handle bar will actually support the compressor weight and there is a hand grip on the rear of the tank to lift it and get it in and out of your van . ( cambell hausfeld handle bar and tires crack in a month ) the paint job is killer .. I am running a framing crew with it and 4 framing guns rocking and rolling all at once is no problem . I would not buy an upright compressor of any kind . They are way to top heavy . Hey Northstar. You need to make a 26 gallon hotdog compressor .. I liked the compressor so much I bought two . My product finally arived several days late, it was also damaged/defective , the whole mechanism attached to the tank was very loose. The on off switch the two gauges were all off unattached, to the tank one of the gauges glass was broken shaddered in Parts 11 through 17dented in, and all unscrewed from the Tank. Took company a few days to get back to me, but finaly got a new one shipped out, and they where very helpful and Apologetic and made it all right, because of the whole expeirence, my rating is 4 stars Otherwise i might of given them 5 stars as the product itself looks like its well built but delivery wasnt the best, no fault of northerns or amazon.

I just love this well built hard working air compressor It runs all of my air tools and guns without a hitch. I shopped quite awhile before deciding on this purchase. I bought mine directly from Noth star, great company have a couple of their tools.

I might have liked everything about this heavy 200 lb. V twin. I was never given the chance because there is one big weak link in this supply chain. It gets to ride across the country in an adequate carton, sitting on a pallet, but not attached to it. It had crashed numerous times on either side as the pallet never moved. Let's call the pallet the 'foot' Let's call the carton w/200 lbs. inside the BODY. Do you see how the BODY can fall off the foot when unattached? I'd read similar reviews but ordered anyway. I can nothing at all about the compressor since the motor shaft was bent from one crash. The belt guard was ruined. The was caved in on the other side. Such a shame that they fail to recognize this. It took 8 days to get a truck out here to take it away. This entire review concerns the shipping issue and says nothing about the compressor, it was totally unusable.
