Very Effective, and we were able to put 2 side by side
We were able to put one bike with the handle bars up and one bike with the handle bars facing down right next to each other on the wall perfectly. They only needed to be about 6 inches apart (This will of course depend on your bike). I was so pleased to have our bikes take up minimal space all while being ready to go and easy to access right by the door. Very pleased with this product.I know very little about installing stuff and this was a very big learning process for me so I'm going to share my recently obtained knowledge in hopes of helping others. Also unless you are super strong and experienced you will likely enjoy having a second person around to hold the heavy bike upright while you measure. What you will need to install these:1) A pencil to measure and mark the holes2) A tape measure- to measure 8 inches above your tire when your bike is positioned upright3) A drill4) A wall stud finderIf you can find a stud where you want to put your bike then you are all set. However, I could not find a sturdy one that would hold and I was dismayed. I kept getting false positives. However I made a cool discovery.YOU CAN STILL PUT THESE UP WITHOUT A STUD!!!! If you can not find a stud you can buy TOGGLE BOLTS. I had never heard of these. They are large winged screw things that can hold >200lbs even in 1/2 an inch of drywall. They required us to make a very large hole in the wall with a very large drill bit but it was worth it. Now they stay up just fine.

Works well, easy to install right tools.
Good product, comes with mounting screws, easy to install with power screwdriver or cordless drill with Phillips bit. Must be mounted into stud. If you know where the vertical studs are inside your wall, or know how to find them, I takes less than one minute to install. If you don't have a power screwdriver and/or are not sure what a stud is, I'd recommend you ask for help with installation. In the US, vertical studs are 16 inches apart inside the wall. This defines how close you can mount these bike hangers apart from each other. When you mount two bikes 18 inches apart they are close together and handlebars/petals can overlap, but it generally works well.I'm glad I read the directions before I installed mine because I assumed the back wheel would rest on the floor. In fact the back wheel should rest on the wall. If you are hanging more than one bike, you should measure where the hanger is going to go based on the longest bike. Mount the other hangers at the same height and let the back will rest on the wall where ever wants to.If you don't want black marks on the wall where the back wheel will rest against it, you can attach something soft to the wall where the back wheel will rest or consider buying one of these for each of the bike hangers you purchase: "Delta Da Vinci Bicycle Tire Tray". Amazon sells them and they're pretty cheap. They have peel and stick tape that allows you to stick them to the wall where your back tire will touch and protect the wall paint. If your bike is heavy or if your arms are weak, it may take practice to hang and retrieve your bike. Practice and find a way that works.

Great sturdy, space-saving and economic solution to store your bike
Very solid setup for hanging a road bike. I purchased this to consolidate space in my apartment, and the helped to minimize the footprint the bike took up. Very easy to setup, especially if you have a stud to use. I did not have a stud in the proper place, so I used drywall anchors, and it worked just as great. After using for a month, I'm very pleased with this product, especially at the price point. There are other, smaller mounts you can purchase, but they rely on the tire to be inflated, whereas this product actually holds the structure of the bike, bypassing the need to maintain proper tire inflation. There is no included support for bottom tire, so you may wish to hold in place with something else to prevent the bike from moving (I wedge it against my indoor trainer)

Great product, could be excellent with two small changes
If I could give 4.5 stars, I would; here's why I'm dinging a star... This provides perfect spacing to line up several bikes. Some caution has to be paid when hanging your bike to make sure you're not hanging with pressure on a spoke. Install is super easy, and it had no trouble holding a 37lb vintage road bike with fenders, racks, and bags. I was able to hang three on standard-spaced studs side by side and the drop bars are neck and neck, tight fit but not atrocious. Maybe worse if you're hanging MTBs with wider bars. Two complaints: I understand they need to make a product which accommodates everything, including MTBs and fat-tire cruisers, but with standard 27" x 1-1/4 rims and even more so with 700c rims, you need to focus on centering the front wheel in the comparably very wide platform or the bike won't stand true vertical. Likewise, it sort of sucks they don't provide a tray for the back wheel to sit in. I'll just fab one up, but hanging on bare studs, you need to be careful or te rear wheel will flop in between the studs, and I'm sure that stress wouldn't be good for the front wheel. They could make this a phenomenal 5-star product with two minor additions or changes: 1) provide some kind of snap-over plate for the screw cover to better accommodate centering for us skinny-tire folks. 2) include AT LEAST a 6" tray for the rear tire to sit in, nothing fancy, plastic would be fine, maybe make it 2-piece adjustable for wider tires and skinnier ones (simple slide). Optimally, it there were two 6" runs, the product would truly be most universal, and I'd pay an extra $10 for the $3 in plastic that would take. Better than fabbing it up on my own.Anyway, all in all, this is a great product and I'll probably order 2 more to go with the three I installed in my shop already. I'd recommend this over any of the others on Amazon.

Quick and Easy
Really simple device - I purchased this to store my bicycle during the winter. Two quick pilot holes and in it went!! The only downside is, I've created a new spot for pigeons to roost (the handlebars). It's pretty easy to get the bike on/off - all you have to do is lift the bike up the wall slightly, and turn the wheel slightly off centre. It takes a little practice, but it doesn't take long to get the hang of it. I may continue to store my bike like this during the season.Delivery was fast - within a week, in fact, I think it was about 5 days.Value for the money? Racor has another vertical bike rack sold at Walmart for $8 or so, but it doesn't seem to be as durable - might be okay for a light road bike, but I don't think I would be too inclined to use it for a beefy MTB.
