These are great quality and perfect color (sage green) I was updating ...
These are great quality and perfect color (sage green) I was updating my bedroom and decided on sage green blackout curtains. I also found a bed skirt to match. I did try both the 84 and 63 length...the 63s worked best in my bedroom with beige sheets. These do not have a white backing, so beware if your HOA has rules about that (use sheers). I will say, I did find a few flaws on a panel I returned...stitching was a little off...and a fabric blemish...BUT, if they were the length I needed, I wouldn't not have returned them. For the price, they are an excellent value. The sage color is nice and rich looking. Nice fabric...doesn't really need ironing (although I did a little touch up).Regarding blackout...they do not block out 100% of the light...but my window gets direct afternoon sun. But they do darken the room quite well and do help keep out the heat. As long as you aren't getting direct sun...they are pretty close to blackout (of course...light will shine from the sides and top). They also help reduce outside noise.

Everything I wanted
Absolutely perfect! Exactly the right size, the color is right on and they truly do block most of the light. I have a vaulted ceiling in my living room with a large south facing window about 11 feet from the floor. In winter that can be nice for the light and a little heat or bad when a south wind comes up. In the summer its nice (we live in northern Minnesota, doesn't usually get too hot) but sometimes we need to cut the amount of light and heat. Now the bottom of the window is at 11 feet. The top is almost 16 feet up. I can't afford motorized window coverings so have been looking for something easy to move with a pole and a hook. Grommets are the answer for ease of movement.Overall very pleased and considering purchasing more for the other living room windows if I can find the right color.

Great curtains for the $$$.
Great curtains for the price! Material is medium thick, very soft. They definitely block the majority of the daylight and are completely opaque when viewing the lit room from outside at night. They were wrinkled from the packaging but I washed and dried..and most were gone. Touch up with an iron would do the rest. I like the ease of wash and dry..and the curtain mayerial is great. I bought the beige color..perfect for what I needed. An deep off white on the warm side. Guess the only reason I have them 4 stars and not 5 was the hem is a bit puckered and not completely even. I think some ironing will fix the pucker and I am planning on trimming them up a bit anyway. I'll be getting more!

Big difference
I bought these to reduce the evening spring and summer sun beaming through the bedroom window. I dropped the old sheer curtains and installed these blackout curtains and have noticed a big difference. I can keep my room in a really dark state basically all day if I wish. They perform very well for my needs. Now, there is still some light creeping in around the edges, but that has nothing to do with the curtains. With a few modifications to my window frame and rod system I should be able to eliminate the remaining minor traces of light that come through. I believe that if the curtains were completely flush at all points, then it would be pitch black in the room. I have waited many years for this purchase opportunity and I am indeed satisfied with the product so far. The curtains are heavy enough to stay in position and the rings appear to be of good quality as well.CAUTION: Be aware of your surroundings! When using these curtains, your space may become extremely dark extremely too fast for your eyes to adjust. Give your eyes time to adjust before moving around, or at least know where you are in the space. Moving too quickly may cause you to misjudge your steps and you may injure yourself. Be safe!NOTE TO MIGRAINE SUFFERERS: I would definitely suggest these blackout curtains, especially if you become light sensitive during your migraine episodes and your current window treatment isn't up to the task of making your room dark.

Beautiful Drapes - Not Totally darkening
Paired these drapes with inset mounted aluminum blinds to complete desired blackout. They don’t blackout my bedroom corner windows without pairing with blinds. You won’t achieve total darkness with these alone. The drape material is very soft and wrinkle free microfiber and has a wonderful hand that was unexpected. They are machine washable too. I would definitely purchase these again and I recommend them to you as an excellent value. They look great in my windows!

Shorter Than Advertised
I put these curtains up in my son's room because he wakes up with the sun, regardless of what time it comes up. These curtains do an acceptable job blocking out sunlight. My only issue, and it could just be a factory defect specific to mine, is the length. The package states that the size is 52"Wx63"L. When I put them up they seemed too short, so I took them down and measured them to be sure. The actual length was 61.5 inches. Which means, when hung on a properly-placed curtain rod, that they are just short enough to let a line of sunlight through along the bottom. This kind of defeats the purpose of buying blackout curtains because they are still allowing sunlight to come through. I am very annoyed by this and would consider returning them if I hadn't bought them as a temporary solution.

Very Pleasantly Surprised!!
These curtains were purchased to replace some older Blackout Curtains from Croscill. The Croscill Ocala backtab curtains had worked well and had a nice separate sewn-in liner. The Utopia curtains are more up to date with the Grommet Top, and easier to use. Also, the material is more lightweight but feels very high quality and has a nice drape. The backing is material and has a silk-like feel (not a coating thankfully!) and does an even better job at blocking light than the former curtains. Love these and very highly recommend - I will be back for more!
