250+ cuts on mild and stainless steel and still as good as new
This is my go-to saw for metalwork and rough cut miter work on wood. I included some example miter cut pictures, welds, and a workbench that I made all the cuts for using this saw.Put simply, there is no way you can make mitered cuts in metal as precise as you can with this saw outside of a shop with a mounted band saw. With a wood blade, it'll give you solid cuts on wood and it's very mobile, but it's not precise enough to do something like a picture frame (nor does it claim to be).If you're comparing this to a metal chop saw, please do not buy the metal chop saw. They are universally a waste of money, inaccurate, and slow. This thing cuts like butter through 1/8" mild steel. It slows a hair on 3/16" and a little more on 1/4". I haven't tested it above that, but I'm sure it could handle anything up to 1/2" flat bar (probably not 1/2" angle iron).Switching blades out to do cuts on other materials is easy and pain free. It also has a dual arbor for different blade arbor sizes, which is super handy. The cord keep is also a nice feature. Overall thoughtfully designed and well engineered. If I have to be nitpicky, the one thing that I would change about it is to have an included bag that attaches to the exhaust to catch work material. When you're cutting metal with a saw, the shavings go everywhere and they're impossible to get out of your clothes. An included exhaust bag would be nice.

Do Not Buy This Saw!! READ REVIEW!
This saw has a major design flaw. The Arbor on this saw is 20mm instead of the standard 5/8". It is IMPOSSIBLE to find blades for this saw. Out of the thousands of 7 1/4" saw blades out there, the only blades that will work on this saw is the few that evolution sells. If you ever want to use this saw to cut wood trim, there is no wood finishing blade you can buy for this saw. Buy somebody else's small mitre saw even if it is more money. You will make up the difference in the first few blades you buy!!
