Great Prone Shooting Stand!
I do competitive shooting from the prone position and have been looking for a more economical scope stand for my new spotting scope. Most of the formal stands for sale are excellent and very expensive, I only need a stand that I can use in the prone position, but a very stable one. I am very pleased with the quality of this stand for the price, I had to add a adjustable tripod head but those are on this site in many different prices, generally the 30-40 dollar range will provide the quality needed for a stable head, like another reviewer posted in his pictures, I inverted the head so the scope is low and near the legs so I can just roll my head without leaving my shooting position, I did set the unit up in the full vertical position and added the extension poll. It is sturdy enough to hold my 80mm 3+ pound spotting scope in the full upright position, I will buy one more extension so I can use this stand in the sitting position to score targets. bottom line, if you need a good F-class stand and don't want to spend hundreds, this is a good value for the money, it is imported but well built and finished. Good job Opticron

Great height for prone
Very sturdy, heavy-duty stand. I mounted my Redfield scope on it and it doesn't tip. I shoot prone rifle and the height is perfect and the bipod design keeps the legs out of my way, compared to a tripod. I am getting a Dolica ball head attachment in order to have a little more adjustment options, but with a straight scope, it is still okay as it ships. I haven't tried it on the bench yet, but I would guess the height will work well for that also.

Just about perfect for what it is
This has a nice monoblock feel to it and has solid aluminum components. 5 major parts: 2 legs, vertical element, lateral element, and pole. All of it is bolted together except for the pole. The legs swivel back 270* to where this folds into a very small size. It easily fits in my range bag (a Maxpedition MPB, so not very big).I use the pole inverted to keep the scope low but there is a pole extension included. If you added more than that to go higher it would probably get wobbly. It's plenty high for sitting with a 45* scope, but really this is a portable bench or prone stand.Everything has tight tolerances. The main reason for not giving 5 stars is that it requires a little work out of the box. The legs got sloppy and didn't work right at all until I oiled the outer screw heads and put loctite on the threads. I'm trying blue first to see if it will hold. I also had to bend one leg to get it to not rub while closing. Now that it's up and running though, it's pretty amazing. I have a Dolica ball head with a 1/4" to 3/8" converter disk to make it more point and shoot.Think of it weight and size wise as a mini tripod but with zero flex. If you have a tight lockup in the legs and throw a few sandbags on it it's crazy solid.

Incredible value and performance
This is without a doubt the strongest and sturdiest bench top stand I have and for the money it can't be beat and I have some that cost hundreds more have a Ray-Vin swivel head on my scope it adapts to the rod beautifully it is positioned directly over my rifle scope and if it moves it's only because I've hit it with my head I highly recommend this product to any bed shooter

Just what I needed.
This is exactly what I needed for f-class prone matches. .if they sell some extra extensions bars, it will be good to sit and spot for your partner, but for prone sitting or bench positions this is handy and can be carried in my backpack

Most Excellent for the Benchrest or Prone Shooter
This was a really nice unit for the benchrest shooter or for someone who wants a small, compact, yet sturdy bi-pod for birding or whatever. I ended up not keeping the unit but through no fault of the design. My needs demanded something different. Nevertheless, for the price I was amazed. If this company marketed to prone and benchrest shooters, they'd take over that market.

Opticron Bench Rest and Prone Spotting Scope Stand
Excellent, rugged, folding spotting scope stand. The stand is much more solidly built than shown in the photos. This stand is very versatile; right out of the box, it is ready for bench and prone positions. With a little adaptation, it is ready for kneeling and standing (just replace the vertical rod.) The parts are metric; the rods are 20mm diameter, and the threads are M16x2.00.

Very sturdy bipod - you could repair a bridge with this!
Bought for mounting a spotting scope for rifle range use. It weighs twice as much as the scope! Super sturdy, heavy duty, well -machined and -finished solid aluminium billet which should last a lifetime. Made in Taiwan to a very high standard. I added an Arca clamp and plate so my scope is QR for transport. The modern equivalent of those so-hard-to-find-these-days cast-base stands with a chrome steel rod with a round black knob on top so's you don't poke your eye out. Shooters, you know the ones I mean. And huge thanks to Camarthen Cameras who got it to me four days earlier than anticipated despite the Royal Mail strike.

A nice innexpensive prone shooting scope stand
Built quality seems nice. About 1/2 the price of a Freeland. Only down side, the head to attached the scope could use some improvement.
