Black Lagoon, Vol. 10 Paperback – April 21, 2015

About a year ago, I couldn't stand most anime because I thought that it was way to pervy (The whole school girl fetish mostly) and how drawn out some stories can be. (Dragon Ball Z, Pokemon, Naruto, etc.) My friends kept insisting that It wasn't "always" the case and I should Check out Black Lagoon. I kept turning them down, but eventually I caved and sat down to watch it. 3 days later I had finished the OVA, and needless to say I was hooked! I had never experienced a anime that was not only action packed and bad ass, but also something that I regestered with emotionally.I wanted more, but there wasn't any nor had there been anything new for almost 5 years! I had heard rumors that another volume of the manga was in the works, but I wasn't expecting anything any time soon, so I bided my time with other animes. Such as Code Geass, FMAB, Hellsing Ultimate, Cowbay Beebop, Attack On Titan, even a few episodes of FLCL haha!A few months and 2 semesters of college later and this sucker drops out of the blue! I was busy with finals so it slipped through my radar, but I was estatic when I saw it had popped up on my recommendation feed!Having never read a manga before, it took sone adjustment to get used to reading from right to left, but I found the manga to be easy to follow along with.The volume itself is rather light hearted and fun. Which is rather appropriate considering that Roberta's Blood Trail story arch was quite the heavy hitter. Theres not a whole lot of action in this one, but it's still a great read thats chalk full of laughs. I also enjoyed the art style of it, as the B&W adds to the tone of the series well. Though it can be difficult to tell what is happening during the fight seen, which is also kinda appropriate if you think about it.Over all, I love this series and I'm glad to see that it hasn't lost it's vibe in the 5 year hiatus. Can't wait for volume 11, though it's probably going to be another year if you look at his track record. I mean, it's just him and a few other people that make them

A fine return to form for Black Lagoon. After a long and rather depressing storyline, Roberta's Blood Trail, the author took a few years off from writing this series. Now that it's back, the series returns to it's rather over-the-top action and ridiculous characters. While ultimately a new story with new characters, this story shows the potential to help develop Rock's character after the awful things said about him during Roberta's Blood Trail. The story has not resolved itself yet, but it's action packed, funny, and somewhat emotional. For Black Lagoon fans, it's a must read.

i was so hungry for a new chapter of the story after watching its 2 seasons and ova that i didn't notice this volume so i HAD to get it , finished it on the same day cuz of how awesome it is and after a long time ( even creator Rei Hiroe being sorry for the time it took to continue the story ) but im soo happy that things are kicking into gear again .im shocked that the trouble making jane the Indian girl from Season 2 is getting quite a push in this story being a lovey dovey chocolate bunny with Benny out of the blue like that , this arc has jane involving the new girl she assigned to do her hacking job that cost her life in a dirty trap cuz it raised tensions of the Chinese PLA so S*** hit the fan hard and the lagoon team might in hot water again cuz of this .there are interesting character developments special with rock and the new hacker girl and even to my shock Revy has quite a moment in this manga that i never expected form her to be like that .but hot damn i cant wait for the next volume , and i mostly wanted this to be in anime form later on so i can watch the part when Sawyer came to clean up THE MESS..... in the apartment as i read those panels 5 times for how awesome and unexpected it was PLUS Sawyer had her cute moments .this was awesome and all i have to say is for Rei Hiroe is keep it up and don't leave us fans dry .

Finally the series is back up and running! With the best cast of action characters and a great balance of dark humor and action; I honestly can't wait for the next volume. This was another great volume to a great series.

The hiatus was a long one. It wasn’t announced and I was afraid Black Lagoon was done for and finished. Well, it wasn’t, and a new story arc is working.I liked this volume. It took a little while to get back into the story, and the team is pretty separated. I like the new character introduced and having Revy and Rock have to help her out, after having a fun battle with her.The art in the book is always top notch. The angles of the art can make a conversation of three people sitting around a room way more interesting.I am definitely back into the series with this volume and ready for volume 11.

It's high time we saw more of the _Black Lagoon_ gang, and the way this ended, I'm sure that at least one more book is in the works. We may see some changes in the lineup, though...Feng Yifei, a Chinese army hacker, has been abandoned in Roanapur by her ruthless superiors, and told that to them, she's dead or might as well be. Does this sound at all familiar? At the end, she may just replace Benny, who is a nice enough character but hasn't had much time onstage.The scene where Revy threatens to make Greenback Jane her b*tch, prison-style, is hilarious, as is the scene when Sawyer the Cleaner shows up to finish some work and frightens Jane (the last time they met up, Sawyer _was_ trying to kill Jane with her chainsaw, but that's business as usual in Roanapur, and nobody generally takes it too personally.)

It was AWESOME! The new introduction to the cast is very interesting like everyone else before her and I gotta say that despite the similarity in origin story between her and Rock she manages to stand as her own character. Needless to say, I can't wait for Volume 11!
