My installation was quite simple, and saved me over $2000. compared to local dealer install.
My application is a Carrier Infinity FE4ANF005. I was quoted $3053.00 by our local dealer to replace the blower motor. At that price I imagined that they had to remove the evaporator, and recover the refrigerant to access the fan motor. That wasn't the case at all. With the power off; remove the 4 bolts securing the cover; remove 4 more bolts securing the fan assembly; disconnect the 2 wiring connector plugs from the motor and slide the entire assembly out. The photos show the fan housing with the old motor still installed, as well as my own idiot notes. Switching out the motor was straight forward, and most fasteners were required a 5/16" socket. If you own a 1/4" socket set, you're ready to go. YouTube has numerous helpful videos.I was mostly concerned that the motor was correct for my system. The posting indicated by motor # that it was, but to be on the safe side I contacted the Seller (North American HVAC) and they confirmed it by the air handler #.The seller was helpful, shipped quickly, and had the best price I could find. I would recommend this seller and their product to others.
