Kenda Kwest Commuter/Recumbent Bicycle Tire

I like these tires. Before I was using the Kenda K838 tires which were size 26x1.95 and those were good though a little heavy. They were also making my ride a little slower due to the large contact surface to the ground. They did have amazing tread though, but I decided to go with these 26x1.5 size tires to gain a little speed and lose some weight. Let me tell that these tires did just that. Made my ride a lot faster though a little bumpier just because these are higher pressure. I run these at about 50psi which is half the recommended just because my bike pump can't go that high haha. My goal was to turn my mountain bike into somewhat of a road machine and the closest i got was to a hybrid bike which I'm happy with. The only thing I will say is that you cannot by any means go into slushy muddy area with these and if you do yuo'er better off getting of yuo're bike and just walking it to the other end. Took a bad fall trying to get through mud not to mention the tires looked like crap (i've cleaned them now). They have no traction in mud and will slip everywhere, however on road they are beast at taking sharp corners and hold pretty well on any dry surface even gravel or dry grass (possibly)saved the labels because will probably buy these again should i get a new bike. would recommend to anyone looking for faster ride strictly (not smoother)

I have been trying to reorder items like this for a couple years now and can't find them. I ride a Recumbent bike which uses this tire in 2 sizes 20X1.5 and 26X1.5 and I have not been able to find them here in many years.

Woah! what a bit of a pain to mount but they are on. Smooth rollers when pumped up , so far only gone up to 85lbs of pressure. Niagara cycle sent right away. U.S. Postal broght them from Niagara falls to long island in about 26 hours. Then US postal in bellmore long island broght them to me in about ten days to go about 20 miles. That was hard to believe ,but at least they are not damaged. They don't feel so heavy in the package. I use them for commuting and weekend rides. so far so good. P.S. Update... from the handle bar view the tire appears to waver out of line as though it isn't cast straight. I don't see any bubble in the sidewall but at speed on a smooth road I notice a thumping . These tires are also good in the wet as they don't feel like they slip at all.

This is a review for the Kwest 20 x 1 1/8, which is a 28-451 bike tire, the taller of the 20" tires commonly found on recumbent bikes. I wish Amazon would be more clear on bike tire sizing! If your tire says 406 on it this isn't for you! I've had a change of heart with this tire after wearing out several Schwalbe Duranos on my Varna Handcycle, these easily last 3 times as long and seem to have about the same rolling resistance. I just replaced a 26 x 1.5 on my SWB recumbent after 11 years and thousands of miles, was getting a bit hard and I wanted a narrower tire. Couldn't seem to wear it out. The price is great! So I'm back to these as training tires and Primo Champ 19-451 to race unless the course is rough, then these stay on. Please note the tread on these tires is made to roll in one direction, it matters which way they face when mounting.

i have thes on recumbent. get 4000 miles before developing a flat spot, not many tieres in this size but happy with them. Kenda does nto have sexy colorful marketing but their tires work. Have n oidea what sheerness is

These tires aren't bad, per se, but they have no tread indication. I can ride them about 1600miles, give or take a couple hundred, and then they suddenly blow out bad. It seems to me that the density isn't even along the entire tread. I commute 10 miles to work, so it makes for a long walk when they do blow.

I bought this for a 26 x 1.5 wheel and it works very well. These tires do last a long time and can be inflated up to 100 psi because they have a steel wire inside. I have not inflated these beyond 80 psi but they do hold very well at that pressure.

I own a EZ-1 SE LITE recumbent bike and these tires are the same as the originals, except more pretty (Logos and such). They fit perfectly. I had to laugh at how they were shipped however!! They came in this HUGE box!! 4 feet high and 4 feet wide. I thought they would come laying flat in a pizza sized box since they are quite small tires. I found the tires at the bottom of this huge box stuffed with piles and piles of those Styrofoam peanuts.

This is my third set of tires for my Specialized hardtail this season. I recently replaced my stock Specialized tires with the Kenda Kross series. As a mostly asphalt commuter in the Kitchener Waterloo Ont area, I found these tires were quiet but with the somewhat wide tire , (1.95) there was still a rolling resistance.With the Kenda Kwest high pressure series tires (26x 1.50) these skins were excatly the right fit for my commuting needs. I have confidence even in wet grass, rain and stone.These tires are still fairly new to my bike so the durabilty is still in guestion.Nice looking tire and engineered with directional grooves for water dissipation.They are as wide as my Continental (1.65) on my other Norco bike.Amazon delivered in two days unfolded and ready to go. .. Awesome tire have it on 70 kph motorized bike and I pound on it flat out down Rocky Mountain roads and no flats yet
