Looks and sounds great.
This is beautiful and deeper than it looks, which is a plus. Unplugged, it not really necessary, but no need to remove it, because I have it in an 816ce. That's a big loud guitar, and I don't notice any tonal difference at all, and if it makes it any less loud, I can't really tell. I prefer to leave it where it is, as it looks good and does not affect it for acoustic playing. For plugged playing, though it is a must, for this guitar. That big sound cavity can feed back something awful, and this really does help. It's amazing. The foam ring that holds it in is my only issue. It compresses on the inside of the sound hole to hold everything tightly in place. This damages the material it is made from. On the first install I slightly askewed one of the three tabs and I can occasionally get a vibration from it. This is only noticeable while playing the guitar acoustically. I could remove it, but that risks damaging the ring more next time it is installed. I might need to order or make a new foam ring some time in the future.

These look beautiful!
One dropped right into a guitar like they were made for each other! I had to block sand the other a little to get it to fit my other guitar. They didn't eliminate feedback problems but there was definitely a noticeable reduction. To be fair, I chose the mild version. Lute hole also offers medium and heavy feedback reductions as well, so you may want to consider those as an option.

Very nice
Size was exact and the workmanship is top notch. Easy to install, with a foam ring around the back for a good grip (just line the notch up with the neck and pop it in). Definitely guards against improper strumming wear-and-tear as well as helps with feedback. The Maple color is slightly lighter to the same as on most light wood/finish acoustic guitars, so it blends very nicely while adding to the overall look.

great and fine looking hole cover
Great looking hole cover and it does what its supposed to do, surpress feedback. I have gotten two of these and musicianss friend (via amazon) has the best price on them, they sure beat the ugle rubber things. Fitting them is a tad difficult if you have a neck that protrudes into the sound hole, but careful sanding with a belt sander takes the cover down enough to solve that problem, otherwise fits right in.

Lute Sound Hole Cover - Nice!
Very nice, attractive and well made. The only problem is that it is a bit difficult to seat in the sound hole of my Martin D-41. Once seated, it stays! Very happy with this.

I don’t recommend them
I ordered 3 of the #15 style covers. The rubber gaskets are coming loose from the back of the cover making it impossible to install. I wrote to the Lute Hole company and they sent me an invoice to purchase a 2pack of the gaskets fir $10 plus $5 shipping. I can’t see why I need to purchase additional parts for a defective product. They should send them at no charge. I bought the covers because they are American made. Disappointing to say the least.

Don't learn the hard way
Buy one...NOW!!After 30 years of gigging with low to mid end guitars, I finally broke down and invested in a Taylor 814-CE. The difference in tone quality from the cheap guitars is amazing, due to in part, an extremely thin UV cured finish that allows the solid Indian Rosewood and Sitka Spruce tone woods to resonate properly. Feedback on stage with floor monitors had always been an issue with any acoustic guitar I played, but I lived with it becuase I hate those rubber plugs.Unfortunately, after only about six months gigging 2-3 nights a week, I started to notice wear on the bottom edge of the sound hole (something that never happened to any of the cheap laminated thick finish guitars I had played all my life). Realizing I was not going to change my playing style and it was getting worse, I started researching a solution on-line. All I could find at first were the cheap hole plugs I HATE. The thought of sticking a $9 tone killing rubber plug in my $3000 Taylor to prevent further damage did not sit well with me. Then I discovered the Lute Hole Cover. Not only did it completely resolve the feedback issue without sacrificing any tone, but it completely hides the damage and prevents any new wear. And it rates an eleven in the eye candy department!! Don't learn the hard way...get a Lute Hole today!
