Dyson Dc14 Vacuum Cleaner Hose

The listing for this replacement vacuum hose is a bit confusing as it might make you think that it's an original equipment item from Dyson. It's not. I've done the hard work already and ordered a replacement hose from Dyson's website directly. The factory original Dyson hose has Dyson stylized logo on the plastic hose end, it's longer than most of the copies out there, and you can certainly feel a difference in the materials used. While I hoped I was getting a deal on a factory replacement hose, what I paid for was a copy. In the end, I returned it to Amazon as I wanted the original hose. The age-old saying that you get what you pay for is true unless your okay with buying cheap inferior copies every year or so. The original hose that came with my Dyson lasted me 12 years!

This was exactly what we needed to replace the hose that had torn on our Dyson animal DC14. Would be cool if the plastic clip at the bottom was purple to match what it replaced, however I can live with the plain gray color as it does match the rest of the vacuum. Our 11 year old vacuum is now as good as new! Very happy customer here

I thought this was an authorized Dyson replacement because it looked like the seller was Dyson, but it's not. It's a cheap replacement, that doesn't stay connected to the wand at all. When I tried to hold it on the wand while extending it, the connector pulled completely off the hose. I'd return it for a refund, which the seller did offer when I complained, but that's a huge hassle for a little bit of money. Low cost = low quality. Lesson learned.

This fit on the vacuum just fine, but the wand extension is suppose to slide down into the hose for regular vacuuming, but the hose is just s slightly smaller diameter and the wand doe snot easily go down into or out of the hose without much struggle.

arrived quickly and the good part of this order ended there. Hose was bent either in shipping (envelope) or before. Coiled hose was not really possible to fully straighten. As a result the wand goes back into the hose with unnecessary resistance which will probably shorten it's lifespan. Also, the hose would not click into the bottom holder because of bent clip attachment. I managed with some boiling water to sort of bend and fix(temporary) it to work till a replacement is found. All in all, if ordering this item , i would say expect complications. one more thing , this hose does not retract as readily as the oem. This is when new so it could become more problematic as it wears.

This hose was a huge disappointment. The handheld tool that detaches from the vacuum would not slide in and out of this hose easily. It’s as if the hose was smaller than the original part. The plastic is much thinner and the little clip that holds the hose would bend upward and the hose would slide off. Within a month or so that piece simply broke as you can see in the picture. Do yourself a favor and buy a genuine part.

This hose is a lifesaver! The hose on my DC-7 died in the middle of cleaning for company, so I panicked knowing Dyson parts were not cheap the last time I looked. I found this hose and was skeptical at first that it would work being so inexpensive, but it arrived quickly and it's working great. It's also easier to pull the handle attachment in and out of the hose, it became downright close to impossible the last 6 months... a sign I now know means the hose is falling apart and putting too much friction on the metal tube when you're trying to slide it back into place.I'm not quite sure if this is an actual Dyson part or not since the hose does look slightly different than the one which came with the vacuum, but it has been 10 years and designs do change... in any event, I absoutely reccomend this.

I'm not sure what the displeased buyers are talking about...?I have the Lavender Dyson Animal DC14Hose fits perfectly. Wand fits better than the original Dyson part ever did and the hose stretches just fine.Honestly, I'm quite happy I didn't spend $40 on a name brand part!Thank you!!!

I like the overall feel and quality of this product.Put in to immediate use two issues manifested themselves straight away. The first was the bottom clip device that keeps the hose attached to the main machine body kept coming out. I bent the clip further towards the machine but it still comes out after a few minutes od use so I did it again and again, I will have to live with that activity.The second issue was that I removed the long aluminium rigid device from the flexable tube in order to attach the various tools (was car cleaning). None of the tools now stay in as the hole they go in to is far too big. I now have to hold the tools in by hand. I will have to look at a way of soving this perhaps by adding duck tape to the hand tools outer case so when it is inserted it stays where it should. Not complaining as the item is a third of an actual Dyson model.

This was really easy to fit however I immediately when vacuuming the stairs realised it wasn’t as stretchy as the original one as wouldn’t reach to the last two steps of my stairs, unlike the original which would. This was a bit of a pain, but could work around it. However it only lasted 8 months as the fitting which clips from the end of the hose and onto the attachments snapped and made it really hard to use the hose as kept falling off when the attachment was fitted and trying to use. So overall, ok for a while, but I think you get what you pay for, I won’t be buying this again.

Bought as a replacement as the one I had kept falling apart at the accessory end. Hopefully this will be a bit more durable. I didn't rate the suction power as it is just a hose.

I did give this five stars but after using this a few time I realized it does slot in the back of vacuum like it should so when the hose is pull slightly for instance when cleaning the stairs it keeps coming out of the slot

Bought this spare for low cost and convenience of amazon delivery. initial difficulty in installing part. Sprang out of its slot if slight pull an hose. Needed to glue a wedge of rubber to keep hose coupling in place. Today noticed several splits towards top of hose 9-12 inches from handle. Being quite good at DIY have dismantled hose from handle and cut away slit area's and refitted. Have lost about 12inches of hose, but can continue to use. WILL CONSIDER BUYING GENUINE DYSON PART NEXT TIME
