The best and most comfortable utility shirt I've ever worn -- perfect companion to 5.11 cotton polo.
I was looking for button shirts because I was getting tired of wearing 5.11 polos all the time and these are perfect. After trying the poly/cotton blend version of this shirt I much prefer these cotton ones as they feel better against my skin. Compared to other button shirts these are just plain superior.Pros:-Canvas design means better durability if the shirt is punctured.-All cotton feels better than blend version in my opinion.-Features like sleeve clip holder, punch-out cargo pockets, air ventilation vent, and hidden document pockets make this a very practical utility shirt.Cons:-Price: These are expensive and there's no denying that. However, you get what you pay for and these are incredibly well made. Moreover, if you consider how many times you'll be wearing this shirt, it's a prudent investment.-There's a 5.11 logo stitched near the button front section of the shirt. I wish 5.11 would have included an option to remove that easily. Conclusion:I needed a shirt that is both tactical and low-profile -- this is it. If your searching for a button shirt that is best-in-class, I would highly recommend these 5.11 cotton utility shirt.

Great durable shirts but beware the sizing
I have a number of 5.11 clothes, both shirts and pants. All are well made and well thought out. No weird pockets where they don't belong or worthless loops. This shirt is no exception. It is very durable material which does not pick up too many seeds and burrs. Think houndstongue. Good for working around hay or anything that sticks to and wears out lighter material. The hidden pockets are great. Easy to access and large enough for larger phones and note pads. One thing to beware of if buying on line. These, like a lot of 5.11 shirts, are sized to fit over body armor. My LEO relatives warned me as did other reviewers. I wear a 16.5 dress shirt and have a 45" chest, 34" waist and the medium is a good fit with a tee shirt underneath. I normally wear a large or occasionally an XL. The large in these was huge especially through the body. A a caveat, I do not like or need my shirts loose. I also take care to wash this in cool water and hang dry. Hope this helps more than adds confusion on the sizing.

Excellent shirt - need more in Tall sizes
IMHO, 511 should make more of the cotton versions in XXXL and Tall sizes as many of he users of this type of shirt are first responders/LE and more than a few are big and tall folks. More importantly, the cotton version of this shirt is so much better than the “TacLite” or similar fabrics/products that don’t breath well, make you sweat and rapidly heat up with exertion. Particularly like the document pockets. Hunting buddies and other friends in tac ops would like to see a version with buttons instead of hook and loop on the pockets as buttons are much quieter on stalking. Overall the construction details and thoughtful design make these shirts durable, comfortable and a pleasure to wear.

Best Shirt
I bought my second shirt just before taking a trip to Europe. These shirts are so awesome I just love them. The extra concealed pockets are fantastic for travel and the shirt is more than durable. I've read some people that complain about the fit. I'm 6'1" about 210 lbs and look fit, the shirt fits fine. It's a little snug in the shoulders after a couple of washes, but not uncomfortably so. I like the way the shirt hangs so I can wear it tucked in or not and it will look great. I plan on buying more shirts here in the near future. This is my favorite shirt.

Great work and everyday shirt
This shirt is now one of my favorites. Pockets for everything and uniform looking. The canvas stays pressed, does not wrinkle easily. Reading the previous reviews, I selected one size smaller than I thought would be right for me. I'm 6'-0" and 230 pounds and the XL size fits me perfectly. The tag says Regular, which leads me to believe that they make a Tall, but i haven't seen it offered any where. No matter the Reg size fits me and I normally would have gotten a Tall. They are cut fuller than most shirts. The tailoring and detailing are excellent as well. A lot of shirt for the money, well made.

Now my favorite shirt.
Now my favorite shirt. For many years, I wore a version of this made by Propper which had a zipper front and zippered Napolean pockets (vertical pockets on the chest).I didn't like the velcro on the vertical concealment pockets on these until a zipper broke on a Propper shirt (major expense in fixing that).I then switched to this shirt as my everyday shirt, and have grown very fond of them. The concealment (or Napolean) pockets are bigger than the Propper's, and while I still find the velcro a bit annoying, it does seem to work well. I also like that this is cotton as opposed the Propper's synthetic (albeit water resistant) fabric. It feels better against my skin.I don't carry concealed at this point, but do use all the pockets for my "geek gear" - camera, cellphone, folding knives, flashlight, etc., as well as the usual wallet, checkbook, notepad, medicine, and so on. You can carry a lot in this shirt, and I have shocked people who have had occasion to lift one "fully loaded" (about 8 pounds).I anticipate that one could carry a pretty beefy handgun in either of the concealed carry pockets without any trouble at all. I may find that out eventually if I decide to go that route ( a good idea, IMHO).I bought a size larger than usual simply because of the amount I carry, but that was not really necessary. The shirt is roomy and fits well. The fabric is heavy and wears well, and until I find something better, this will be my shirt of choice.Highly recommended.

Uniform Shirt
Probably my fault but I was expecting more of a business casual style shirt. This shirt is a heavy stiff cotton uniform shirt. It is well made and I expect it to hold up well. It is however a uniform shirt and not a daily wear casual dress shirt. The three stars are only because I was disappointed with the feel of the fabric and nothing more.
