Doug Hyde Looking After My Heart - Framed Limited Edition Print

This is the most recent Doug Hyde purchase that I have made. A lot of the pieces that I already have feature animals - the black lab, the brown and white dog, or a cat (or a mixture of them all) - along with his trademark figure, so this one is a little bit different for me as it features only 2 figures. When I first saw it, a few months ago, what drew me to it was the title, "Looking After My Heart." Seeing as I had been single for about a decade before meeting my current partner, the image/ sentiment/ title really struck a cord with me. For me, it sums up what being in love is about; that you are trusting someone to look after your heart. But, it also made me realise that you have to look after your own heart. I am so glad that Doug released this, in this size; as my collection of art grows, the spaces on my walls decrease, meaning that I was restricted to what would fit. Now, this sits on one wall along with Doug's other pieces, "Head Over Heels" and "Contemplating Mondrian." It's small, perfect, and charming - I love it!
