Good replacement part

This item fit my Dell Inspirion 1545 very well. It did have a center plastic pin that did not allow it to initially fit my model. Once I cut the pin off with a hot tip pen, it was easy, it fit perfectly.

Faulty, but it still worked

On my laptop, only one of the buttons (left side) below the touchpad failed. Since I could not find just the buttons for sale, I bought this assembly. After installing and reinstalling the new touchpad assembly three times, it was obvious the part was defective - the touchpad did not work. I ended up removing the buttons from the new touchpad (two screws - very easy to do) and installing them on my old touchpad assembly. My laptop works great now. Just wish I didn't have to pay $40 for basically one button. I did not return the item due to it being inconvenient.
