Tough-to-mount wire bead. Highest puncture resistance road tire available.
Although I had a brutal wrestling match with this tire to mount it on my 1987 Araya aluminum rim, I still will highly recommend it to any cyclist who rides roads in a city environment. The puncture resistance is utterly supreme for the usual road debris we encounter including broken glass, sharp gravel and sharp-edged cement chips and defects in the road surface. A FLAT-PROOF CLINCHER TIRE DOES NOT EXIST. Unless you ride an airless solid rubber/polyurethane tire, AT SOME POINT IN TIME, AIR-FILLED BIKE TIRES WILL PUNCTURE. I see the images in reviews of these tires with a screw, various anecdotes about thorns, wires, staples, razor blades, etc. Guess what?... These items encountering ANY road clincher CAN PUNCTURE them. Now, on to THIS tire: It resists many puncturing items FAR BETTER than about 98% of road clincher tires on the market.Yes, it will require A LOT of finesse to mount on many rims. (Although setting the wheel and partially mounted tire in the hot sun for a few hours greatly eases the mounting effort required). This is a great wearing and very comfortable riding tire. It is one of the best at resisting punctures from road debris. The only change that would improve it would be changing to a folding Kevlar bead to improve ease of mounting.

Almost Impossible to install on your tire rim!
This tire is ridiculously difficult to get on the rim. I bought two in March and after hours of struggle, I managed to get one of them on my tire rim. I tried for another hour or so to get the second one on and in the process managed to hurt myself and damage the tire! I gave up and rode my other bike all summer. I then ordered another in August, to replace the damaged one, and to date I am unable to get this tire on my bike! I ordered the right size and I have years of experience installing bike tires, but this is ridiculous! I've now pulled the other off my bike because I realize that even if I did get the second one on, I would never be able to remove and replace it if I were to get a flat during a long ride!! Amazon won't take the return because my window of return time expired so I am stuck with two useless tires and one damaged tire and still can't ride my bike! Guess I'm going to head to a bike shop to buy like in the old days! Haha! I really don't recommend these tires given the extreme difficulty/impossibility of getting the tires on the rim.

Good tire but a pain to install. Be prepared to use a tool at install
This is a good quality affordable tire. Have run these on my wife's bike for a couple years who was notorious for flats. Since using these there have been no more flats. I purchased for my bike when needed although these are not easy to install at all. That's the only downside.

Great LA road tires
I have an older and weathered 24 speed road bike that still rides well (Treks seem to last). I had purchased this tire from my local bike shop after getting a flat on by back tire and noticing how bad it was cracked.I was looking into the gator skin line, but they did not have them in in 25mm. I like having the 2-3 mm thicker because it's more comfortable on turns. This tire may weigh every so slightly more than the gator skin, yet rides very well.I ride in the urban decay of Los Angeles, where tires have caught road debris and I've gotten flats. Not with these. I've had this tire on by back wheel about 130 miles before giving into buying this for my front wheel. Now that I have both wheels with these tires, it rides even better, offering a great combo of traction and some tread. Because of the lack of weather changes, I can only speak for spring and summer riding conditions. I have rode in the rain a couple of times, no problem; but judging by the small treads on the side/wall, I would imagine there are better tires for all season conditions.Maybe every 50-100 miles they'll need to be checked for cracks and tread before riding. With these Super Sports, all I need to to is check air pressure, because I like to ride the max 120 psi and I've sometimes gone a pump or two over and still rides great.Bottom line, for a set of road tires, priced under $70, for summer urban/city riding, these are great tires.

There are better urban tires, get Gatorskins
I commute daily in Brooklyn, my tires get a lot of wear and have to deal with sharp debris often. These tires just don't hold up. They're difficult to install and the definitely aren't puncture proof. I've switched to Continental Gatorskins which have a band of kevlar instead of just the reinforced rubber that these do.

Thick good thing.
Most people complained about them being hard to install but I had a easy time with the right tool. They are hard to install if you are used to the folding tires that install with your hands but if you buy the three set tire lever tools for around 6 dollars it makes the installation super easy and they are small enough to fit in your bike bag just incase you get a flat down the road. I'm used to manually installing motorcycle tires and it's pretty much the same thing.

reviews about mounting are correct
These tires are a pain in the A to mount.ended up puncturing tube trying to mount after way too much time trying to finesse this tire onto the rim.2 identical tires - 2 identical rims and tubes - one went on as expected (slowly and carefully) and inflated fine. The 2nd just didn't seem to fit - tried heating up the tire to get more flex - just couldn't get tire on rim ????frustration sets in - this thing has got to fit I'll use my metal tire toolsyep puctured the tube and scuffed the rimsluckily this wasn't on the roadI'll say this - from past experience - the Continential plus barrier seems to be very tough. That's the reason I purchased these tires - but sure don't want to go through this hastle on the road. For the price this tire is more of a pain than it's worth.

Size / bead rigidity is all wrong
I have decades of experience on buying & installing tires, and this is by far the worst tire I've ever bought... It is impossible to get on the tire, and once I got it on, you better not have any problems on the road. I concur with another reviewer: Continental should be refunding money for this POS.

Had these tyres in the past and their performance is great in terms of durability. I had no puncture since I used them. Now that I ordered them again, the delivery by Radversender.de was very fast and convenient.
