Highly overrated ... the products were well made but I could have used a business card or old credit card to do the same thing. I gave it away.

I was a bit skeptical of the color at first, since purple often makes me look like I have a black eye, but despite how it looks in the compact, the purple is soft enough to go with any complexion. The brush is a little to thick to be used without the shadow shaper, but the shaper makes it almost impossible to over extend the color.I wish the shadow shaper was a bit more intuitive. I'm a novice when it comes to cool makeup tools like this, so it's possible that someone who knows what they're doing could use the shadow shaper to its fullest potential, but I mostly found it helpful to prevent the color from going everywhere. I'm trying to find a Youtube tutorial on how to use it, which would be extremely helpful.

Okay ladies.... I cannot lie when it comes to make up! I use MAC for the majority. But lately I have been buying way more AV products. You know when you put on shadow and you have to keep reapplying? And really working with it to get in that crease? WELL... the 1st time I used Alexis Vogel's mulberry shimmer shadow, I was like YEP! this is awesome! It goes on nice and easily and it feels creamy, but its not. I could not believe the quality of the shadow, its so great and the shimmer is not like putting on costume make up, it has just a hint of shimmer. You can take this from a light mulberry to a deep mulberry with hardly any effort... I will be buying more of Alexis's eye shadow. I am still trying to figure out the eye shaper though... I hear once you get it down, it is great to use to get different looks. OH! And the shadow brush you get, ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER USED! It don't shed. <3

I was really interested in this product as I often have difficulty getting my eye makeup to look very professional. The kit came packaged nicely and I was happy to see the color of the shadow was purple. With my green eyes, purple is a shade that I know works well for me. The kit included a small card with instructions on how to use the shadow along with the felt shaper. I had no idea that people used items like this to help with application. It makes a HUGE difference. The brush that was included was a nice quality and worked well with the shaper. Although I got this kit free in exchange for an unbiased review if I had known in advance what a difference the shaper makes, I would have purchased something like this long before. I think it takes a bit of practice to get it perfect but after a few times I had no problem at all.

This is a good makeup line, but the real treasure here is the diamond shaped felt. It's perfect for creating symmetry for any eye makeup, especially for a smoky eye. The shadow that was included with this kit is highly pigmented, and went on smooth with a sheer finish. It reminds me a lot of "Busted" by Urban Decay, which I consider very high praise. The blending brush is a nice touch to the kit. Everything came nicely packaged, although I don't think I'll use the faux leather folder to keep the shaper. I got this kit for free in exchange for an unbiased review - I thought the original mark up price was a bit on the high end, but the shaper is fabulous enough to justify. If you can never get eyeliner wings to be the same on either side, this is perfect - both for measurement and application.

Love this kit and the colors included! There was a helpful instructional card on how to use my Shadow Shaper included, but I already own the Book by Alexis, but love the card because it was a great summary and refresher course! LOVE the color!! I do have a favorite video online that I watch from time to time that reminds me how to do my favorite one minute eye!!!
