Smooth and Satisfying
I'd never used a mud mask before this so I really didn't know what to expect. The smell is mild, light, natural, and earthy- very pleasant and smells clean. Putting it on is easy (I use a facial mask brush) and it is a lot lighter feeling than I anticipated. It doesn't feel overly sticky when I wear it and it doesn't drip or go into my mouth. As it dries I can feel my face getting tighter and the oils being absorbed. Taking the mask off is easy, too. I just use a hot towel and wipe. Since the mud is a thicker consistency than say, a cucumber mask, it does take a little bit of wiping to get it all but my skin looks dewy afterward and it pulls out a lot of the oils and other gunk from my pores. Bonus points because it even pulls some of the deeper stuff and pulls it to the surface. I use this about once a week, or ever 2-3 days if I'm really oily and haven't had any negative side effects. My skin doesn't get too dry afterward and it helps to clear up my acne.I've tried the Shill's peel off mask that is all over social media and I don't have any complaints about it either (it's not painful to take off and it only takes 15 minutes to dry instead of 30 for this mud mask) but I don't think it does as good of a job pulling the oil and blackheads out. It is neat to be able to peel off the mask and see what has been pulled out, compared to this Mud Mask, but there is really a big difference in how I feel after each mask. With this mask, my skin feels oil-free, clean, and fresh. When I used the Shill's peel-off mask, my face sometimes feels a little sticky afterward and I wonder if any tiny pieces have gotten stuck in any of the pores. After the Shill's mask I usually cleanse or do a quick wipe-off of my face but I don't have to do that with the Dead Sea Mud Mask. Now, that's not to say I don't still use the Shill's mask. Since it only takes 15 minutes, sometimes I throw it on while my little one naps on my problem areas to help keep down oil and acne. But, I also use this Mud Mask weekly and I think that the two of them really makes a good team. I don't recommend doing both on the same day, but definitely using both is helping my skin to not break out as badly this pregnancy than with my first.I've even gotten my husband using this product and he likes it. He has a lot of acne due to certain medications but this helps to keep some of the oils down in his face and prevent the really bad breakouts he used to get. It doesn't fully counteract the medicine he takes, but it does a really good job of managing the chronic acne. I would definitely recommend this to anyone and everyone.

After Just One Application, My Skin Looks Healthier!
Lately I've been wanting to try new treatments for my hair and skin so they look healthier. I came upon the Dead Sea Mud Mask and it was just what I was looking for at a reasonable price so I decided to purchase it.When it arrived, I'll admit I was a bit surprised because the jar seemed smaller than I expected but I am also not very good at picturing the size of something unless I have a visual so, for that reason, I've included a picture of the mud mask jar next to a 20 ounce Diet Coke bottle for anyone who prefers visuals as well. The mud mask comes in an 8.8 fluid ounce/ 250 gram plastic jar and is made from minerals taken from the Dead Sea in Israel. The purpose of this mud mask is to remove dead skin cells and toxins, as well as absorb oils and aid in clearing up acne (taken from the mud mask container). The full ingredient list is: deionized water, Dead Sea mud, kaolin, shea butter, sunflower oil, aloe vera juice, vegetable glycerin, jojoba oil, hickory bark extract, calendula oil, and xanthan gum. The bottom of the jar contains the manufacturing date of 2/29/2016 and an expiration date of 2/28/2018.It's fairly easy to use this mud mask too. You apply a thin layer of it to clean skin and leave it on for 10-15 minutes then use warm water in circular motions to remove it. It took several minutes to remove the mask but that didn't seem to be a huge deal to me. The directions say to not use it more than once a week. When I first applied the mud mask, I freaked out my in-laws because the mask is dark like mud and I'm pretty fair-skinned so they just weren't expecting it. It was actually pretty funny! After I removed it, my mother-in-law immediately noticed that my skin looked healthier and I could tell as well. Even just after one application, this mud mask removed some of the dead skin cells and toxins and rather than looking slightly splotchy (since everything shows up on people who have fair skin), my skin looks clear and much healthier! I don't currently have acne with the exception of the occasional blemish so I really can't comment on that part of it.Overall, I'm very pleased with this product and I will continue to purchase it as long as it works well for me for awhile. At first, I thought that the price was a little too much for the size of the container but, since you only use this mask once a week, it really should last for many months so that makes it worth it to me. If you are looking for a mask to make your skin healthier, especially with summer coming, I'd consider purchasing this one. If anything happens to change my opinion of this product, I will update my review. I'm very happy with this mud mask and recommend it to anyone!
