Style:6 Piece Roaster and Tool Set Graniteware roasters are "America's favorite roaster"! Graniteware has been a part of the American kitchen For nearly 150 years. Made in Indiana by a family owned Factory, it is the original speckled cookware that has helped generations of families turn holiday feasts and everyday meals into cherished memories. Our roasters are designed to accommodate weight of ingredients without all of the weight of roasting pan. They have a strong carbon steel body Perfect for absorbing and distributing heat evenly and quickly. They are Energy efficient; The dark surface absorbs the oven’s energy, lowering cooking times. Porcelain is fused to the steel at 2, 000 degrees Fahrenheit producing a non-porous, inert glass surface that is naturally non-stick. Porcelain Can chip if dropped, however this does not reduce the effectiveness of the cookware. They are safe for metal utensils, easy to clean, and dishwasher safe! They are great for flavor! Since the glass surface is inert and will not absorb foods, The taste is not altered like it can be with other surfaces. There are no pate's, poi's or any other chemicals to change the taste, color or nutritional value of the food. Turkey is a relatively dry meat and when cooked in an open roaster, the important moisture and flavors escape into the oven. Our covers keep all of the juices confined to the roast and the dark surface evenly absorbs the ovens energy and evenly distributes it to the food inside, so you get a moist, evenly cooked roast in less time with less energy. No need for injecting or brining - just use the graniteware roaster for the best results every time. There is a graniteware roaster perfectly suited for any size meal, oven or food preparation method. Whether grilling, broiling, baking or roasting, we have a size and configuration to handle the task. Our roasters are equally at home in oven or on the grill. Product highlights: our 21 inch covered oval roaster can hold up to a 20 pound turkey with the lid on and up to 25 pounds with the lid off. Both base and lid have sturdy handles, which helps in transport and also allows versatility of use. Need to make sides for a crowd? These two vessels can hold over 12 quarts of whatever you're sharing. Interior dimensions: 17. 25” x 12. 75” x 4. 5”. Exterior Dimensions: 21" X 14" X 5". Covered exterior dimensions: 21" X 14" X 9". Warning: this is one big roaster. Check the dimensions of your oven before choosing - graniteware also offers our traditional, oval covered roasters in smaller sizes. Graniteware by Columbian home products, originally founded in 1871, Columbian home products is the oldest cookware manufacturer in the U. S. , famous for producing porcelain on steel cookware. The Columbian home products name was taken from the Columbian Exposition world fair in Chicago in 1893 where we won the cookware innovation award for our naturally non-stick enameling process. We have been producing graniteware cookware in our Terre Haute, in facility since 1901. Graniteware has a carbon steel core for strength, conductivity and superior heat distribution. Porcelain is fused to the steel at 2, 000 degrees Fahrenheit producing a non-porous, inert glass surface that is naturally non-stick. Porcelain Can chip if dropped, however this does not reduce the effectiveness of the cookware. Deceptive description
This pan is NOT 19 inches long. The useful part of the pan is only 16 inches long! When you ad the 1/2 inch lip going around the pan the length is 17 inches, when you add BOTH of the handles the length finally reaches 19.5 inches.I actually expected this. Unfortunately I thought the interior length would be 19.5 inches because the product information section says, "Product Dimensions: 21.2 x 14 x 8.5 inches" So, I assumed 21.2 inches included the handles. Silly me, right? But then, where does the 21.2" length come from? This item came in a box that measured 25.5" long. There was no inner box, just the bare naked pan and some wadded up brown paper void-fill. 21.2 inches seems to be a made-up number that relates to nothing. Why can't we just be more honest? Why not list an accurate inside dimension (so you know your brisket will fit) and a maximum outside dimension (so you know the pan will fit in your oven) and stop trying to deceive everyone with vagaries and ambiguities that are defensible but still misleading. It's like listing a ten inch frying pan as 22 inches because it has an 11 inch handle on it. It's a lie, and it's wrong.

I was glad to see this and that I had enough time ...
I ordered it on Dec 20, because as I started to thaw our frozen 26-lb turkey (pasture-raised by my brother-in-law and his wife), I realized it would not fit in my largest roasting Granite Ware! I was glad to see this and that I had enough time for it to get here before actual use. As soon as I received this, I pulled out the turkey from the cooler where it was thawing, and tried getting it into the pan. Perfect! Here are photos during the trial (turkey thawing), then night prior to baking (after lifting from the brine, and with the stuffing in) and right after roasting for 5 hours min. (I also had enough liquid to turn into gravy, without having to add water). Granite Ware always gives me the most perfect roast turkey or chicken! (I have tried other brands before, and nothing compares, considering the affordability and performance.)

Don't buy this one.
Don't buy this - it's made in Mexico (even though description stated made in U.S.A.) - arrived well packaged but with fine scratches, smudges, and lid did not fit snugly - cheap construction. It is a nice big size though - good for larger turkeys, hams, etc. After quite a few emails with company, I finally got credited off my credit card for this purchase. I had read reviews of Granite Ware - those made in U.S. were excellent - those made in Mexico were poor. It got this one because it was large AND it was made in U.S. (However, false advertising - sticker on pan said it was made in Mexico and sure enough, all the reviews I read about it from those purchased in Mexico were true.) I do recommend Granite Ware - excellent for roasts (especially turkey) but make sure it is made in U.S.

Definitely not the same product as advertised
I should have read the reviews before ordering this roaster. First off, poor customer service. I contacted the seller to let them know that I was going to return the item if I was not getting the roaster that is made in the USA and if the measurements were not as advertised. Maya from Kaspien support told me, and I quote, "The best way to address this is by contacting Amazon directly, they handled the processing and shipping of your order and can help you determine the next best steps," end quote. I mean, what kind of customer service is this? She even didn't bother to assure me that I would get the right product to give some peace of mind. From here, I knew this was not going to be good. Today I got the product and guess what?! The roaster's label says that is made in Mexico, and the measurements are inaccurate, see pictures attached. There are so many discrepancies in the description in Amazon. I am returning this product. All I wanted was a nice, high-quality roaster. Companies like these shouldn't be operating, and Amazon should shut them down.

Chip in roaster, returning. Poor product packaging/handling may be to blame.
Mine came with a chip in the surface, exposing the bare metal. I’m in the process of sending it back, and won’t buy another. I would guess the reason so many reviews mention chips in the roaster is due perhaps to poor product protective wrapping at the manufacturer, combined with how they may be handled and stacked in the warehouse. Either that, or really poor quality control at the manufacturer.WMT has the next size granite ware container for roughly $12. I may get that one, but it won’t roast a 22lb turkey. The easy alternative is to cook a 12 pounder the day before the holiday, carve and refrigerate it in a covered dish with juices for servicing, and a second in the same pan the day of the holiday. I have a 25+ year old large roaster the size of this one. It’s covering is dark blue v black. But, it’s metal is much sturdier and heavier. Unfortunately, it dropped in the garage and has a chip in it. I wish I could find a replacement, but they probably don’t make them like they used to.The granite ware roaster the next size down at Walmart is lighter weight. It’s a step up from the cheapo aluminum bottom pan roaster you could buy at a grocery, and will last longer of course. But I may shop around for a little better quality than graniteware, including the usual stores (BBB, Williams Sonoma, etc.), and some professional kitchen supply stores. Any recommendations, including if it might make sense to buy a recommended tabletop roaster (to free up oven space for the other holiday goodies), would be welcomed.
