Better than a mora!
Call me a conspiracy theorist but I have a hard time believing some of the extreme negative reviews of this knife. I've owned it for almost a year now and have nothing but stellar remarks for it. The actual blade is the perfect size for me as a camping blade or a general work knife. The scandi grind is great with no secondary bevel. It takes me quite a while to even take a slight amount of the edge off. I can literally run it across a diamond rod 3 times and its like a razor again. I'm a mora owner and the saker takes and holds an edge better in my usage. I think some people get kind of anal about where the knife is made and that factors into their rating which I don't agree with. You know where the knife is made before you buy it. The performance of the knife is excellent, regardless if its made in Taiwan or wherever. I like American made products simply for the fact that it employs Americans. The handle is contoured to my hand perfectly and very comfortable. The sheath is a nice rigid leather with thick stitching that takes a while to break in. The sheath retention is good as well. I would recommend putting a 4 inch piece of duck tape on the inside of the sheath on the side of the belt loop because this knife has an aggressive point which is very useful but will scratch up the inside of your sheath pretty good. The blade Also has a sharp 90 degree spine. The little "bushcraft" tool it comes with isnt really worth much but it's free so no complaints. I have batoned through logs with knots numerous times, cut up food, used in the garden ect and have yet to get a single nic in the blade. The guy saying the entire blade rolled, I'm sorry I just don't buy it. The performance of this knife is a step up the ladder from any mora I've owned, and I like Mora's. if you don't mind an overseas made blade then you can't go wrong with this baby.

1 good thing
The only thing good about this knife is that the sheath was good quality. Other than that the tip bent really easily and the brass rivets in the handle were sticking out and were sharp.

Good Value
Really sweet knife. During my first efforts at battoning it has sustained some stains on the blade that are proving very difficult to remove. Otherwise the blade is sharp and the feel is terrific.

All I did was cut the rib bones which are pretty soft and remove the wings at the joint
Bought this knife quite a while back and had not used it until this week. Carried it Turkey hunting. Cut a few limbs and thought wow this thing is really sharp. Then I cleaned a turkey with it and completely DESTROYED the edge on it. All I did was cut the rib bones which are pretty soft and remove the wings at the joint.I would understand and expect to dull the knife a little but half the edge rolled completely over, plus a good size chip and the tip snapped off.I mean this thing has ZERO temper to it. If you aim to carve tooth picks out of soft pine this is the knife for you. Anything else keep looking because this thing is junk!

Amazing!
This knife received some pretty harsh criticism in YouTube reviews when it first released. And some of that was deserved. There was some kind of issue with the heat treatment in the first run or something, and the blades were rolling. However, CRKT has resolved that issue since then, and the current run of Sakers are amazing! The example I received is a beast of a cutter. Seriously, this knife just glides through wood. Out of the box, mine didn't have a "perfect" edge. It almost felt rounded. But, ten passes per side on a 1,200 grit stone brought it to a razor edge. No honing. No stropping. Just a quick pass on the stone. And I immediately took it to a piece of seasoned oak by my fireplace to see what it could do. I don't ever expect too much of a knife on that wood since it's just so tough, but the Saker blew through it and took a sliver off as thick as a pencil and as long as my forearm.Since then, I've used it to carve a spoon, a net needle, and to cut up some celery and onions. This knife begs to be used. It'll take you only a couple of minutes to get used to the blade profile/geometry, But once you do you'll be fighting the urge to cut EVERYTHING with it. I wouldn't baton with this or any knife this size unless it were just some small kindling. That's not what it's designed to do. I have other tools for that, tools made for the purpose of splitting wood. Don't try and make this knife something it isn't, and you'll get a ton of enjoyment out of it. It's a woodcrafting machine. Use it that way and put a smile on your face!

Uncomfortable, small handle.
This is a really good looking knife I picked up as an upgrade from my trusty Mora. The blade is slightly larger than the Mora, is more robust and has a classic bushcraft style to it.The blade has an excellent scandi grind that was shaving sharp out of the box. It made feather sticks and did light batoning with ease. It feels like a solid bushcraft blade. The handle just doesn't fit my hand. I wear a large size glove and this handle is too small to be comfortable in any hand position. Using this for extended use is extremely uncomfortable and I already have a "hot spot" that may turn into a blister. My old Mora rubber handle is far superior to this with my hand size and shape. Your experience may differ.Unfortunately, I had to use this knife to know it wouldn't work for me, so now I can't return it. I am kind of disappointed that this is my new loaner knife.

CRKT - great knife
Love it. Well made, nice scabbard, sharp and works well with fire starter. No cons, however the first one had to be returned. It appeared used, was dull and had small pits on the cutting edge. Amazon sent me a new one before I returned the defective one. Great service and the usual quick shipping. Can't ask for more.
