Thank you!
Before finding this and Nakshatra - The Authentic Heart of Vedic Astrology I was lost due to life circumstances that I could have never foreseen coming. It opened my eyes and gave me access to a whole new world that only existed in my dreams. My fear of the unknown decreased due to the clarity gained through the simplicity of the explanations of the nakshatras, gods, symbolism, etc. The universal connection to other theories and the combination of resources used allowed me to see the greater picture of events taking place in my life and how the materials needed to create prosperity lie within. It presents a wide range of knowledge and combines them without judgment that one concept is superior to the other allowing room for growth and expansion of ideas that has the power to create unity for all. Thanks, Vic

Metaphors of hindu ancient texts of 27 star qualities. Good reference book for hindu (vedic) astrology of stars
360 degree circle is divided into 3 parts. Each part is 120 degrees. Each 120 degree part is divided into 9 sub zones or star constellations. We got 9 times 3 equals 27 sub zones of circle. These are 27 star zones (constellations). It is from eastern Hindu (Vedic) astrology. Another way of looking at it is, 27.32 days of lunar month. Each day is one star. 28th star also considered for additional 0.32 days put together to one in every couple of years.(like solar leap year adds one additional day)None of above information is in the book. But it essential to understand what this book about.Book is mainly focused on quality of each star. How it is metaphorically represented in different Hindu ancient texts. This is very helpful knowledge if you would like to understand each star qualities.Neither reference of each ancient text is extensive. It is briefly touch based to accommodate different texts. Familiarity with Hindu ancient text is not required, but helps to concrete the idea.As I said in beginning. Book does not discuss astrology much. Tightly focused on quality of stars based on Hindu texts.Good reference book. You got to read it in different sittings to assimilate the book. Very good work by author.

Good beginners book
This will help you unravel the mysteries of fixed stars without too much effort. I recommend it to beginners and advanced astrologers alike.

Positively bursting with information
This book is probably the best researched and well organized presentation on the subject of the deities empowering the 27 nakshatra. The information is drawn from a wide variety of sources such as the 4 Vedas, the Upanisads, Puranas, and the itihasas (histories). I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in "Hindu" culture and/or Vedic astrology. One can read this volume without even being interesting in astrology and still gain much. The pictures are beautiful and help reinforce the symbolism of the individual nakshatras. The only warning that I'd offer is that this isn't a "How to" book but one to be used to go deeper into the nature of the nakshatras and their deities. Some interesting connections are brought to light such as why Arjuna of the Mahabharata and Bhagavad-Gita is called Phalguni. The respect given to lesser known devas such as Pushan, Indragni, and Varuna will be highly appreciated by those who want to deepen their knowledge of Vedic deities.

Depth Archetypal study of Vedic Mythology
I am primarily a student of archetypes and the unconscious, yoga and Somatics, which I also teach, so I found my way to Vedic astrology and Nakshatras through this path. I find this guide to these stellar energies, and the authors synthesis in this and his other books on astrological energies invaluable to my continued study and development. As a bonus there is an extensive collection of companion YouTube videos and tutorials the author had made to continue to metabolize the invaluable Vedic mythology for self study.

Great for Vedic Astrologers!
This book, 27 Stars, 27 Gods, is very informative about the 27 Nakshatras of Vedic Astrology, with a lot of background stories that help reveal the nature of each nakshatra, beginning with the Sanskrit name, meaning, symbol, deity, and the main stars that comprise it. After many years of study, I have found that Vedic Astrology is more accurate than Western Astrology, but I know very little about the ancient Indian Vedas or scriptures that are its foundation. This book has been invaluable for me to learn more about the rich lore of Indian Astrology, and it's not very long but interesting enough to pique my interest in learning more.

A book larger than life...
The book was not as was expected... probably beacuse I personally had high expectations. However, this book is a good start for beginners in Nakshatra study, and is useful for intermediate students to fall back on once in a while to refresh their understanding and meditate upon the symbology and meaning of each Nakshatra...The author may want to give more attention to correcting errors here and there, and devote time for proof reading for the next version of the book... Thanks much, I personally enjoyed reading it...
