Panasonic answerphone
I have owned a few Panasonic phones and liked them all. This one (Panasonic KX-TG6071M) is also very good. It is easy to use and the voices are loud and clear. One thing that I miss that was on previous models is the message counter that shows the messages in memory even after listening to them. The unit is compact and attractive.A belt clip would be nice to have.

Great phone!
This is my backup phone which came to $25, so I jumped at buying it. Though it doesn't display the amount of messages, it has great features PLUS an alarm to wake you up! It also mentions the caller's name which surprised me when I first got it. If you're picky about small details, go fetch a better buy. But this one suits me fine!

update 2010: Do not buy this phone! Downgraded to 1 star (from 5).
It has a major flaw. A cheaper phone will show you how many messages there are. Thought that was standard. Gave as gift-this point is a source of aggravation. Otherwise very fine. Nice small footprint.Update: About 8 months later, I have had time to go through the instruction manual. Still cannot get an accurate display of number of calls-no display-but Caller ID works very well. I particularly like the voice notification, eg: phone rings, after 2nd call it says "call from Mary So & So."Need caller ID from phone company to get this to work.So far a great phone at a good price.Criticism:1. Light flashes with calls, but no number of calls. A cheap phone for $20 as well as a $159 phone do this.2. The quick start leaflet is not very good. RTM (Read The Manual)Eight months later, I have read the booklet many times. Still no way to see number of calls. I love the programmable phone book function & caller ID. One day it crashed however, with all these red lights on console. I fixed it-Power Down/ Power Up (eg: unplug, count to 30 slowly, plug in again.) This phone is a great value for the money, but not beloved by recipient unfortunately.Guess what? November 2010; The phone shorted out our entire phone lines and had to be replaced. costly bill! Pretty bad for only about 2.5 years! Do not buy this phone!

nice phone but has a few major flaws
I have owned this phone/answering system for about six months. The hand units look great and work great, have good range, calls are always very clear. The talking caller id is nice and has saved me fromgetting up to run to the phone on numerous occasions. The major flaws I've found are as follows:1) As noted in a previous review, the answering machine cannot detect when the caller has hung up, which at our house happens a LOT. In this case the answering machine will record about 15 seconds of a message from the phone company "If you'd like to make a call , please hang up and try again , if this is an emergency please call 911 ......., then beep, beep, beep, beep....." ALL heard by us through the speaker on the base unit for about 15 seconds or until I run in there and hit the stop button. Then you have to delete the message. Extremely annoying.I find it very hard to believe this made it through Panasonic product testing.2) There is no counter displayed for the number of messages recorded.Overall a good phone, but they really need to fix the hangup issue.

Display Window
Your product was quite simple and easy to setup. I am still trying to get aquainted with all the features. I have a sugestion that I feel would improve the sale of your product. The display window is awkward and difficult to read, even under optimum lighting conditions. I suggest this display window be tilted upwards about 45 degrees, enlarged and illuminated. Do this and I will give it 5 stars and buy another on!Konrad

Good phone
Lightning had struck my other phone base, and since I had 3 other phones that used the base, and had extra batteries for this type phone, I wanted a base just like the one I had. This could not be found in the stores anymore, so it served my needs well. It is still working fine.

Panasonic used to make good phones
I've owned several wireless Panasonic phones and have always liked them in the past. This latest model changes that. It has all the features I was looking for. Voices are clear, reception is good, etc. But it fails miserably in one important area. The answering system. The ansering system cannot detect when the person leaving the message has hung up. Because of this it continues recording silence for about 10 seconds at the end of every message and then records about 3 seconds of annoying dial tone before finally deciding that the other party isn't going to think of more to say and hanging up.On top of that there are a few cosmetic issues that they've failed to keep up to their old standards. Their old phones had a rubberized grip area that was secure in your hand. This phone has a slick plastic handset that slips easily. They also had an optional belt clip that made it possible to clip it on your belt and wear a headset so you could walk around while talking. That was very useful.Bottom line, I'm returning this phone tomorrow and buying one made by somebody else.

Best of panasonic phone
This is best panasonic phone that lasted for over 5 years. I had to change the battery once otherwise its a nice phone. Good voice quality and long battery life. The phone book is pretty decent and the ringtone customization based on caller is a good functionality. Loved this phone.
