Quick Release Plate for Targus TG-50TR Tripod (TG-50TR-QRP)

I was having trouble getting it to fit, then remembered that it's beveled and has to slide into the matching beveled lip at an angle. Snap ! it's on and fits perfect (but tolerances are close). Two minutes ago I would not have thought it was going to work... I seem to recall (vaguely) I had the same issue with the original one. The bevel fit is what keeps it secure so gotta have it. I expect after it's been in and out of the platform a few times the close tolerance will wear a little to make it easier.

Received this part and good time the ones I added it to my tripod it didn't exactly fit as the original I wasn't able to lock it in but for the most part I was still able to utilize it

The plastic part that goes inside and has to be secured by the latch is just slightly bigger then the original. It means it has to be pushed harder inside and the latch has to be pushed very strongly to close it because it is a very tight fit. But that is the only part on the market that fits so either use that one or buy a whole new tripod. So I find that with some push it can fit and it works for me.

Bought this in July 2017, so I don't know if they fixed the issue with it being too big.I say this cause, even though plenty of users state the plate was too big, mine is not. It fit perfectly without a problem.So, yay, 5 stars.

This QR plate is a perfect fit for my budget Targus tripod. Unfortunately, I paid almost as much for this replacement plate as I did originally for the entire tripod. I have to knock off a star because of the price.
