Kingston 2GB kit KVR400X64C3AK2/2G DDR400 PC3200
Pros: Works excellently, as expected.Cons: Received 2 modules of Kingston KTD8300Other Thoughts: I ordered the afore mentioned kit which shipped from A-Tech Components and instead received 2 new factory sealed modules of Kingston KTD8300 which, if you Google them, are spec'd for Dell computers! Initially this was problematic as, all other specs being equal, they are spec'd at 2.6volts while my original KVR400X64C3AK2/2G modules are spec'd at 2.5volts...or, at least they were. Upon researching both parts through Kingston's web site I found that BOTH part numbers are now spec'd at 2.6volts. And, it appears the original DDR spec was for called for 2.6volts, but manufacturers went with stating memory as 2.5volt for some reason..?As a test, I installed 1 stick of the KTD8300 ram and booted with no problem, so I installed the other new stick and in the BIOS observed the same Speed and Timings as my old modules. I then opened a bunch of programs and played a DVD and experienced no glitches, blinks, crashes or problems of any kind. So, I reinstalled/added my original 2 sticks and everything is humming along fabulously!I wasn't happy that A-Tech Components substituted these modules with No Explanation, No Note in the package Acknowledging that the part number wasn't what I ordered, but that they were, in fact, interchangeable. I was going to return them but spent a couple hours researching them just to see if A-Tech was trying to foist something on me, or what. Before ordering I read that a couple reviewers had received the KTD8300's and quickly returned them because of the voltage being wrong, this concerned me as, I didn't want to have to do an RMA. However, I thought that that was a fluke and that "I" would receive the correct part, so I ordered them anyway!Well, it cost me a couple hours, but I'm happy with this purchase. A-Tech Components, a NOTE would've gone a long way and saved me some time and anguish.Again, these 2 part numbers, KVR400X64C3A and KTD8300 are Exactly The Same. They have the SAME Voltage, Latency and Density specs and are interchangeable.

Avoid this company. Wrong part number shipped covered by a different part number sticker
August 28, 2012Integrity Computer Essentials, Inc.4776 Basswood St.Land O Lakes, FL 346391 Arch Computer7110 Oakland Ave.St. Louis, MO 63117To Whom It May Concern:I recently ordered memory from your company which arrived today. There are two issues with this memory that need resolved. First, I ordered Kingston part # KVR400X64V3A/1G. When I opened the package, I found that you had covered the Kingston part number with one of your own barcode labels showing the part number I ordered. What your sticker was covering up was a completely different part number of KTH-D530/1G which is DDR 400 but it is system specific for HP products and is not approved for the MSI motherboard this was ordered for. I installed 1 of the sticks I ordered and booted up the PC. It would no longer load to the Windows desktop screen and would reboot. It does this with only your stick of memory installed in either socket. It also does it with and without the Kingston KVR400X64V3A/512 that was originally installed in this PC. If I remove your memory, it boots back up normally without any errors.Below is a list of approved memory for the MSI motherboard that this memory was ordered for.[...]Kingston KVR400X64C3A/256 256MB(Hynix HY5DU56822DT-D43)Kingston KVR400X64C3A/256 256MB(Kingston D3208DH1T-5)Kingston KVR400X64C3A/1G 1GB(SEC K4H510838B-TCCC)Below is a list from Kingston of the compatible computers the memory you actually shipped me. All are system specific for HP computers.[...]The second issue with this memory is that I looked closely at the gold contacts of the unopened package I received and can see that this memory was not new as you claimed on your website. You can clearly see that this memory has previously been installed in another machine because of the markings left on the gold contacts that are made after insertion.I made the service call to my customer this memory was ordered for which takes about an hour round trip and spent another hour researching the two different part numbers specifications and compliance with the properly ordered part number for the customers motherboard. What kind of sleazy business are you running where you claim the memory was new and it clearly isn't, and you cover up the part numbers of the wrong memory with the one that was ordered? I demand an immediate refund of $40.90 for the parts and shipping and if you want this used/wrong part number memory returned, you need to supply a prepaid shipping label at your expense. The order number was 104-1862186-4571456.Sincerely,Jeffery A. CouronPresident

So for not many $$ I said "Just for fun, why not
Been an electrical engineer ~30 years, doing mostly software & firmware R&D. Recently got an old computer (built around 2003) that had 1GB + 256MB DDR ram (total = 1.25GB), occupying 2 of the 3 DDR Ram slots. I wanted to see if it would be fast enough to dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux, so I (knowing it already had a 1GB DDR in one slot, and 3 slots total, that meant I could install 2 more 1GB DDRs). So for not many $$ I said "Just for fun, why not." Ordered them, installed them, and yes it does decently considering what it is (AMD Athlon XP 2500+, 1.84Ghz, 32-bit OS). While it's still slower than most would like, it's maybe 3-4 times faster (in both Windows 7 and Linux) to do things with the now-installed 3GB ram as compared to the 1.25GB it used to have. So for a free hand-me-down computer that does correctly dual-boot Windows 7 and Ubuntu Linux 16.04.1 (actually I installed Xubuntu rather than full Ubuntu), not too shabby. The DDR ram works just fine, no problems. So 5 stars. Got respectable speed improvement; about what one would expect for such a slow old computer. Decent backup system, at least. And it's there when the wifey is busy using our good computer.

Good product, when delivered correctly!!!!!!
I ordered two Kingston 1GB 400Mhz DDR Ram for my Medion Titanium PC to boost it from 1GB to 3GB which is close to the max that XP will register. 3.2GB being the max. Fitting is easy and yes the machine now does not grind to a hault as it used to so a great improvement. The down side of the product was the delivery. I had read an account of an order having the wrong quantity supplied and dismissed it as well that happens. I didn't expect it to happen to me, but it did. Only one supplied even though they highlighted send 2! No problem as they without fuss sent the second one which arrived 2 days later. Only problem they where diffrent even though labelled the same, and they only one worked.Another email sent with prompt reply they would send me another. I wait and wait but nothing arrived. Further emails and they promised to send another with a return envelope. Hurray two days later it arrived but oops two arrived not one and no return envelope for the wrongly labelled Ram to be returned to they oh yes and the extra one they sent!So although the process was rubbish the product eventually is great and at a very good price and they seem to be will to sort out their administration problems without fuss or quibbling.

Parfait

Antithesis for Planned Obsolescence
Some people will actually want to revamp old motherboards, and one reason for which this can be satisfying, is the fact that some operating systems just don't need as many Gigahertz or Gigabyte to do the same amount of useful work, as the most-often-used O/S to date does.Given that context, we might be looking for DDR (as in DDR1 or PC1) memory modules, but up to the maximum capacity which the old MBs will allow. Some old MBs can't address more than 3GB, so having 2 modules of 1GB in dual-channel mode just hit the spot for me. It turned junk into another enjoyable computer.Be sure your DDR modules match exactly though. I ordered one module twice, once in each of two orders for the same Amazon part number. It's only after the first module worked, that I ordered the second.

Schnelle Hilfe
